OU vs Ole Miss 1230CST on ESPN

I’ll admit that I wasn’t confident when we gave away the four-point lead with the late turnovers, so it was great to see them settle down and close the game out. Other than a couple missed FTs, we handled the final three minutes extremely well. I don’t care about rankings or national attention, I just hope they keep building and growing.

6 days to get ready for the trip to Nova that is a game they can win

Great win…. Great tourney.

I hope we can keep the mojo going. I only got to see 2nd half of today's game… Cortez looks 100% better than last yr. Very smooth. His hands were everywhere. Hopefully he continues to play well

Nova lost again. I wish they had won once in Portland because I hate the idea of catching them on a four-game skid. I can only imagine how desperate they’ll play Saturday.

Great tourney! Feels like this team keeps growing with each game.
I like that we took some punches from two well-coached physical teams this weekend, kept our composure, and took care of business down the stretch. When we fid get sped up here and there, we refocused quickly, and it never really snowballed into multiple lost possessions like we saw too often last year.

Great performance by the Sooners!

I really liked the fact that Moser used our fouls to give late in the game. Not enough college coaches do that. That helped burn a few seconds off the clock when they needed to score as quickly as possible.

I don't know that I've ever seen a game where both teams had so few fouls and both coaches ended up using them late for different purposes.

Nice catch....this can't be undersold. We disrupted their offense in the waning minute because we had fouls to give.....and the guys executed it very well. Great coaching.

Really liked the three point guard linup with Jacob and Godwin. Could also do that with Tanner and Jacob.

Cortes trying to score on offense vs not looking last year. I believe he was a lights out outside shooter in high school. If he has that ability along with the ability to go to the hoop last night we may have an potential all-star. Only 2 assists. Someone with his driving ability should get more. Is it his ability to find players for dump off or players not getting into position for potential dump off. Our opponents are going to start checking off on him to stop his drives and the other guys need to get to a place to take advantage of that.

What more can I say about Godwin. Plus 17 in the +/- column along with plus 16 by Cortes. Minus 13 by Tanner. Ouch.

Hill solid game but more of a bystander on offense. His defense is keeping him in the starting linup.

Nolan still struggling. Doesn't even resemble his last years form.

The end of that game was very unusual with neither team being close to in the bonus, and especially because there were a few quick fouls right at the opening of second half, I remember thinking "Oh no this is going to be a parade to the FT line". Huge help to us to get to waste clock time without sending them to the line.
Great win

I was travelling all weekend and didn't get to see the game until late last night.

Wow, what a great win. The defense was very good, as always, but I like the offensive progression. The best players in the second half were Godwin and Cortes. I don't know where we found Godwin but the team is better with him on the floor. He does all the little things inside that help your team win, and he knows his role. He's not out there launching three-pointers. As for Cortes, it's awesome to see him proving the doubters wrong, including me. I'll eat the crow. Really nice tournament for us.

Not to be over the top, but if Godwin got a little stronger he could be dominant. He plays very physical in his current stature. The way he hammers guys boxing out on free throws. The way he battles for rebounds. He also seems to have a little bounce. And he actually has some at least average post moves. How many years does he have left after this one?

He has a COVID year. Jr this year but can play 2 more after this year. Same class as CJ and Bijan if he chooses.

Good deal. Looking forward to seeing how he continues to contribute as we get into Big 12 play..

I heard Godwin interviewed on the radio broadcast after the win over Seton Hall. A modest and impressive young man who is living his dream. He's thrilled to be playing at OU.
