OU will finish 11th as predicted because they missed out on almost all first and second choice recruits and have many mid-majors on the roster. There are some good pieces, but the lack of high-level talent on this team (at least for now) is alarming.
Head to head, there are 10 teams in the league that have more talent, more experience, and a better roster makeup than OU.
One could argue that OU has 5-6 midmajor type players on scholarship.

I guess Cam and TJ don't count?

Moreover, OU has added highly thought of JUCO players in positions of need.

Cam, TJ, Newel are all high level talents.
Osby and Blair are highly thought of transfers (Especially Osby).
Tyler Neal was the Oklahoma player of the year, who has shown to be more athletic than expected.
CJ Washington was a JUCO AA and rebounding machine.
Thompson has already shown himself to be a leader and a hard worker.
I have no idea what to think about Ahmed
Can't speak about CJ but Nick had offers from New Mexico and Utah, these programs are not mid-majors.No they didnt... they lost out on the highly thought of juco guys and took guys with a couple of midmajor offers. Im sorry, but thats what happened.
It was a huge class (in terms of # of players signed), and of course Cam/TJ/Newell count. That doesnt mean what I said isnt true.

It's also not like teams like Tech, and Oklahoma State are really that much better than us. Those teams are beatable. And I think Texas and A&M are winnable games. There's only 3 teams in the Big 12 I think we get swept by. Baylor, KSU, and Kansas.I'll get us back to answering the post by bigtime.
....because Iowa State is terrible, we get Colorado and Neb in Norman this year and this team will overachieve. Even if it's just by a little bit. If I recall, Capel's first year here we were picked something like 10th and ended up tied for 7th.
It's not hard to overachieve when expectations are so low.
