Payton Pritchard commits to Oregon

This is the most logical way to winning though. Especially if Lon has an idea of a very nice but not great PG who might commit should it become known the Sooners were over and done with Pritchard. I guess we'll see.

I don't disagree but a lot of people might have been tempted to wait and see in hopes of landing the kid.

Great insight on Pritchard. Thanks for sharing. The Coffeyville PG is Darrion Strong that is visiting OU for the Akron game next weekend. Ada posted last week that his Dad played for ISU and he visits them the next weekend after his OU visit. That's our main competition for him.

Interesting that Jarreau is probably down to USC and the Sooners. He's a package deal with his teammate Brison Gresham. If we're to get those 2, will they still recruit Bolden?

100% yes

Coach Kruger told him Thursday night that we were pulling out and he needed to go
someplace else. His dad was enjoying the recruiting game way too much and was a
problem. Plus his aunt for some reason was telling him how he needed to stay close to
his family because she had gone to Arizona to play ball and she regretted playing far
away from her family. In other news OU is actually playing in a juco point guard from
Coffeyville whol would not mind sharing the point with Woodard for a year. But OU
feels it is down to USC and OU for the 2 Louisiana players as LSU has slow played the
kids and they have some hard feelings now. OU feels they are in good shape
Leopard I say it every time...by FAAAAR the most solid and best recruiting info by anyone on the site. Thanks again!

I know it's not likely, but how would they have room for Jarreau, Gresham, and Bolden in addition to the current 3 commitments: McGusty, Doolittle, and Freeman? I'm assuming Jarreau would only commit as a package along with Gresham.

Coach, while I'm asking, I'm sure you saw in another thread where someone reported that Doolittle is now 6'9". I find that hard to believe. Has he hit a late growth spurt? I'm sure the coaching circuit would know.

A player would be leaving next year. We would have room for 6.

I think Doolittle is every bit of 6'8.

Gotcha. I thought that's what you would say and understand.

A little surprising about Doolitle, but it's a good surprise.

Didn't Pritchard say in an interview a week or two ago that he regretted rushing into his commitment to OU, so he was going to take his visits and take his time before committing to another school?

Theyve said a lot of things... to a lot of people.

I guess that Alvan hit Bob in the back of the head with too many passes.

That's a joke, folks.

My strongest memories of Bob were that he was a serviceable forward who thought Alvan would shoot every time he got the ball. But, Alvan was an excellent passer, and he would find Bob all alone under the basket with nobody around him and zip the ball from the free throw line to----well, it often was to the back of Bob's head since he was looking up for the anticipated rebound rather than back at Alvan where a pass might come from. I don't know how many times Alvan hit him before he got the message to wait to see what Alvan would do.

If Bolden gives OU a strong indication by October 1, I can see OU playing the Jarreau/Gresham situation like Willie Warren and T.J. Franklin: the latter gets an "academic" scholarship and preferred status as a walk on in exchange for helping turn the former into a Sooner commit.

Gresham seems too talented to be a reserve/non scholarship player in D-1, but if he reps his boy...

Brison Gresham is a top 200 forward with a solid offer list. He isn't waking on. ESPN has him as a 4 star ranked in the top 50. His game reminds me of Khadeem Lattin because he can jump out of the gym and run. Maybe an inch shorter than Lattin.

From what I understand living in Oregon is better than living in Oklahoma in every measurable way.

I live in Oklahoma, FYI.

Better if you can live with cloudy weather where you have about four months of very rainy weather, four months of 50/50 rainy days and four months of days. When it rains it just does not rain much it is like it is misty every day with little to no sun. Very depressing to many.
