Payton Pritchard Story Sooners still in play.

I was about to post this. Still have a chance especially with a visit which he is making in football season.

Just gotta sell him on being the final piece to this already stellar class. He will be able to see the development of the freshman we have on campus, and hopefully know there is something special building under Kruger. Distance is our main hurdle, but if we can just show him he could be the final piece, we could get him to recommit.

A top 10ish team this year with a lot of pieces coming back for his freshman year. Clearly the program is on a fast climb in relevance. Payton would be a huge get but this is something Lon will manage with or without him.

No inside info here, but I think we have as good a chance as anyone. OU is still clearly weighing heavily on his mind.

come to ou.. win a championship, propose to GF at halfcourt = everybody wins

Thanks for posting, Jackson!

I like the fact that Payton said he would definitely take another visit to OU. Not that it matters all that much, but it will be an unofficial this time, because he has already used his official.

If he doesn't change his mind by committing to another school, I think he'll be a Sooner in the end. Maybe wishful thinking on my part, but I feel much better about our chances after reading this article.

It really is extremely reassuring. But come on there's no way he would put sooner nation through this much and take ANOTHER visit just to tell us he's not coming...right? I dunno it just seems like maybe he will take a step back and look at the big picture. I think he will see an opportunity to be lead by a great coach and be able to be apart of a great opportunity at a final four or more.

That's what I think, too.

He said this about another visit to OU:

“I know for sure I’m visiting Oklahoma again during the football season,”

If he sticks to his plans and visits OU again, I think he'll be a Sooner. It makes no sense to me that he would make the trip to Norman to tell our coaches he is going to another school.

Then again, who the heck knows for sure with these kids? My biggest concern is that the lure of the bright lights somewhere else, or the opportunity to play closer to home will be the deciding factor.

OU does have some advantages, though. a) Both of his parents are OU grads, and by all accounts they're big time Sooner fans; b) he has family in Oklahoma; and, c) the relationship he has already built with our coaches and his future teammates if he comes to OU.

It would be great if he picked us again. Either way Coach will get us a good point guard for 2016.
