Penzo and how she fits in

I didn't specify a position for anyone. I don't have Maddie competing with Gabbi, just that they will be the most certain starters, I think.

I'm not sure how much McKenna will develop, or how. She could be a pretty good four if she becomes a bit more aggressive.

I just have too little information about Ijeoma to have a feel for how good she might be.

Carter reminds me somewhat of Amanda Thompson in her soph and junior years. A lot of talent but scarry every time she got the ball. Carter could explode next year or her senior year. When she was on this year she just took over the game. One of the main reasons we had such a good run early in the conference.

Potentially she is better than Amanda.

Carter has a bit of the same problem as Kay Kay. When she makes a mistake, she often gets frustrated and commits a reach-in foul trying to get the ball back. That is probably half of her fouls. She has to learn not to hurt the team when she isn't hot. Continue to penetrate, but dish off. If they are guarding you, someone is open. But, the penetrators need to work constantly at it, even if they are not the ones who will benefit.

Gioya and Peyton did a lot of good things this year. They let us down at times. That is inexperience. But, after a while, you have to learn from experience, not just have it.

IMO, Gioya has a better all around game than did Amanda.

I think Amanda wanted/wants it more than anyone I have seen play at Ok. Because of that I wanted her to succeed more than any player I have seen. I can't really figure out why she could not get there/has not gotten there but she hasn't. Gioya to me certainly seems to have more potential. Whether she is able to get the mental game to use it is a question.

Kind of strange with what I said about Amanda, I still feel she was critical for
us her senior year. Maybe the will is enough at the college level but just not enough at the WNBA level.

Okay. I certainly missed that.
