I thought the 4 years I went to OU 57-61 were terrible in basketball. Looked it up and OU was 51-46 with 3 of 4 winning years. The recollection was framed by the style of play, Caoch Parrack was an Iba asst. and it was boring BUT they won.
It seems whatever(and it doesn't look good) happens this year and maybe the next most people have made up their minds that Capel is gone. Didn't fans complain about Sampson's style of play win or lose?
Overall it looks like Capel has good character but is not a good hire. If OU doesn't make some progress over the year, reevaluate then and let him go. There no use going thru another year of acrimony and plain hate over this program.

I agree but I think we'll give him more time then he deserves because of the Elite 8 30 win season gave him a huge contract.

First of all this is an excellent post. I'm sure you'll be labeled by some as a "front-running troll" despite your status as a longtime fan and graduate of the university, but I'd like to compliment you on your well thought out take.

I have waivered back and forth on whether Capel should get another year. I say yes unless this season ends up being so horrendous (0 or 1 conf wins) that we are absolutely forced to make a change). I do think that next year should be a tourney or bust year for him, with the only exception being missing the tournament narrowly and having a loaded 2012 class coming in.
