I would add especially on a team as deep as KU. How many freshman at KU really have outstanding years? It happens but they sign almost exclusively top 100 players. It is harder to be standout in that situation.

Don't think so, I personally love his motor. He is playing behind a first team all conference player and Young, who isn't nearly as skilled as Ellis but "gets it". A full summer on campus is going to do wonders for him, the biggest improvement for a collegiate player is from conference season of their freshman year to conference of their sophomore season.
He will be a solid player by the time his KU career is done.
