Saturday was a real testimony to how important a PG is in college basketball and, maybe, basketball in general. Almost 11 mintues without a point! Wow.

Here are the problems with who OU has now -

Grooms - can't shoot and gives up as many points as he creates

Hornbeak - not a good enough ball handler, lacks confidence and can not "create" shots for others

Cousins - similar to Hornbeak, really. Not a confident or proficient ball handlers and also has trouble creating his own shot.

On this roster, I don't see an answer. I think Lon can do things to hid these guys weaknesses, but I just don't see an answer right now.

If you play Grooms you could play more zone and help hid his defense, but if you play the other two and I was coaching against OU, I would apply full court pressure the entire game.

Could someone else advance the ball and start the offense? Maybe even a big? Teams would have a hard time applying significant ball pressue on one of OU's bigs.

Nolan Johnson's not walking through that door.

You a big to start the offense? We dont have a true PG on the team, but they have played well enough. We couldnt get timely stops and made buckets to beat KSU.
They have done a servicable job at PG this year.
