Anyone know who else is recruiting him? Not much out there on Google.

We had an article a few weeks back with Phillip and his list maintains the same. Jurrick has been through the recruiting hype before and seems to play things low key. Visiting OU first can be looked at as a positive.

I am skeptical about getting excited about Jurick. Tennssee fans said I. The past he was a bad character guy and that is why Pearl "let" him leave. If Pearl thanks you are bad character that cannot be a positive sign.

I doubt that him leaving Tenn had anything to do with him being a bad character....If that is truly what he was because thats all Pearl brings in.

Plus, Jurick is not a freshman at Tenn; He is at a JC and if he comes here, he will be a Junior. Players are more likely to be bad apples as freshmen and sophmores then they are as juniors and seniors.

You have never met this kid, nor talked to him and you know nothing about him. You have no idea what kind of person he is today and your judging a kid off of what Tenn fans have said about this kid who left their team.

We had a kid(Maze), who was a bad apple hear...went to a JC and then onto Tenn and had no problems.

Good point. If the kid can play and improve our current talent level then I would be pleased to have him. If he can't keep his nose clean then he will be gone. Problem is, with our program in such disarray we will be forced to take some chances on kids nobody wants or who have a past. Hopefully Jeff is better at choosing the correct ones than he has been in the past.

Fair and valid points.

I really, really, really doubt that. Just look at last year as a prime example.

I remember a quote from Eddie Sutton that said he liked JC players and transfers because they knew they were on their last chance and usually stayed out of trouble.

I wish we were Duke or UNC where we could pick and choose the kids we want and get all well behave players. You can't just blame coach's for the players they bring in who mess up. If they have no prior history of stealing, fighting, rape, murder, etc...(at least can't be proven) and they bring these kids in and they cause problems in one form or another it looks bad but that doesn't mean that the coach didn't invest time in the player. Somewhere in there, the player and their parents have to be counted responsible.

I'm also for giving young kids a 2nd chance. Coach's are sometimes the best influence for these kids, even over their parents. And they can give these kids stiffer punishment then their parents have ever given them.

I saw his name mentioned by a Mizzou "insider" for the first time today. I don't know if Mizzou is actively recruiting him, is planning on recruiting him or it was just a name he threw out as a guy MU should recruit, so take it for what it's worth.

bump only bc some thought there was a commit coming?
