Pledger

This isn't his best year as a sooner. last year was.

And i'm not trashing the kid. I just think we can find somebody to fill his role and be more productive at both ends of the floor

You have to be talking about scoring because he is def playing better in every other way.

nope. They only thing he is doing better this year is turning it over less and fouling less. But his minutes are slighty down so....

I'm trying to give Pledger credit for dropping alittle weight and getting in in better shape. I think his effort is up alot. Aren't his rebounding numbers up?

To say this means you do not understand basketball. He is defending better, rebounding better, passing better, turning the ball over less, etc.

In some cases, his averages aren't better (rebounding), but he's playing 6+ minutes LESS per game this year.

Lol

So playing less minutes translates into playing better?

His numbers are down. I already said he is playing less. Since when is that have a better yet than last year? I bet his averages per minute played are close to last year. But again he I playing less and shooting worse

Bounce, his average per minute in every category is on par or better than last year except for shooting percentage.

He is playing markedly better in EVERY OTHER phase of the game. His minutes are down, but we needed his minutes down (he played 32.9 mpg last year) for us to have fresh legs and compete for 40 minutes in the Big 12. He is doing what it takes to help us win this year, whether his points per game bears that out or not. His minutes are down because we have more depth, but he still leads the team in minutes.

I'm not saying Pledger is a hall of fame player, but he is comparable or better stats-wise as a Senior to some players we revere (Michael Neal, Tony Crocker, David Godbold, Ebi Ere, Cade Davis...I could go on).

No...us having a better team translates into EVERYONE playing less minutes (including Osby).

What I'm saying is that measuring a player's impact by shooting percentage alone is short-sighted. By that logic, Buddy Hield is not a good player either. Pledger is having a better year this year than last...because he's doing EVERYTHING it takes to help us win, not just scoring points.
