....anyone have video of it? Really wanted to see a replay because it looked like he got tackled.

Smart might have had his hands on the ball, but his body slammed into Pledger...

It was a really bad shot by Pledger.
But if it was on the other side the court, it probably would have been called a flagrant 1 on us.

that was more of a bone headed play than Grooms softass turnover IMO. geez what a frustrating player

Hard to tell who you are talking about, but it really doesn't matter. Neither one of them deserves the comment.

Come on, hoopaustin, you're better than that. OU would not have been in this game without Pledger and Grooms. There is no doubt that Grooms turnover hurt, and that Bird's attempt from three was ill-advised at best. But neither player deserves to be criticized too much for their performance today. I can think of other players who deserve it a lot more than those two.

No doubt. Never ceases to amaze me how angry some of our fans are ALL OF THE TIME!!!! I mean come on..... had anyone told me we would be right where we are, right now, I would have been thrilled. Those Sr. players are a big reason for it.

Of course the turnover hurt us, but without Ro, Grooms, and Pledger earlier, we would not have been in this game.....

Gotta get the next one.

I just went back and watched it. It doesn't look like he got him on the body and from thjat angle it looked like he got ball. Let's be honest. Pledger was almost on the sideline and he tries a turn around fall away three. The OSU guy got his hand on the ball and between Pledger falling away and the defender pushing down on the ball I think it looks more tangled up than it was. Not sure if there was contact if it wasn't caused after that and had no bearing on the play. Plus, it's really hard to bail someone out on a play like that.

A different angle would have helped. That shot from the back isn't the best.

Exactly. LaBron in Miami, Kobe in LA, KD in OKC, Pierce in Boston, etc.....

Those are a few of the people who would have gotten that call. It was a crazy shot attempt with little chance to go in.......

It really doesn't matter if there was contact because the officials are very unlikely to call a foul when the offensive player forces a shot that much, the defender has ball and it is late in OT.

Tough shot, looked good to me from TV but I had the same view everyone else did. Not likely to get a call like that given the time and situation. Pledger played a great game, just wish we would have gotten something better with that much time left. A quick 2 would have worked fine.

Watching it live, it looked pretty clean.

However, the picture of the front of this very site shows that Smart got him with the body, and his (Smart's) forearm is laid across Pledger's forearm.

Probably should have been a foul.

Interesting.

Yeah, there was contact, but I agree with Denver in that a player is not normally going to get that call when it looks like a forced, desperation shot. Had the shot come in the normal flow of the offense, and Pledger was spotted up, he probably does get the call.

Interesting.

:facepalm

I never said there weren't bad calls in the game. What I called you out on is when you suggested there was some lopsided amount of bad calls in osu's favor. Of course there were bad calls. It was a basketball game. There are ALWAYS bad calls.

The problem I have with a comment like this is that Smart got a call at the end of regulation where he just wildly fell and some how there was a foul called on Cam. If they are calling that a foul with 42 seconds left then they have to call the one on pledger's shot.

Let's call it what it was... OSU was at home and got the benefit of the doubt. It's probably better for the rivalry if the teams split the series.
