Lon was on the Sooner Sports Podcast yesterday for about 10 mins. Spoke about the two transfers and the Arkansas series. Toby then asked about JB and Lon said it was definitely a surprise. He said the coaches did challenge JB after the season, urging him to be more aggressive and also be more of a vocal leader, but said they had no indication he was thinking about leaving. There was no discussion about whether he might be thinking about coming back. For those interested, Lon was on during the first segment of the show.
When speaking about the two transfers, he confirmed that Harkless will redshirt regardless. As for Gibson, if the new rule doesn’t go through and he doesn’t get a waiver, he will only be able to play one season for us because he has already redshirted one season.
