Point guards gone in the Big 12....

I am sorry but if he is in the top 3 in terms of pg play then yes the big 12 will not have very many good pg's this coming year...he is a shooter not a floor leader

I agree.

I'm not quite sure what DFW is thinking having him so high on the list, in terms of returning point guards.

B.J. Holmes is a solid overall player, but to this point in his career, he has basically been a 3-point chucker.

Look at his stats from this year... 75% of his field-goal attempts were 3-pointers, which is a higher percentage than even Keiton Page (72%).

Also, Holmes had a very mediocre 1.07 assist/turnover ratio, considering he was a junior.

That will have to improve significantly for him to be an effective point guard.

all good points. maybe I'm in the minority but I like some of what I see out of garret. I've never been a big fan of roberson. Ray should show more now that ford will let him open it up, but how that affects his ball security and decision making will be interesting. If Balbay could just work on a running floater he'd be a lot more valuable.

good points about Holmes- really Dash Harris is probably their PG. But man that kid cannot shoot. He plays good D and distributes well though.

Also I should have put Jeter on the list rather than Richardson for Nebraska. Jeter definitely handles the ball more although Richardson scores at a higher rate.

Off topic, but am I the only one (besides bigabd of course) that thinks Brian Diaz is going to be a very good player for Nebraska? That kid looked great against Missouri and A&M in the big 12 tournament. If he hits the weights hard and buttons up his FT shooting, he may be one of the top 5 big men in our conference.

I like diaz's game alot....he will excel next year I believe because he is good and the big 12 will be less competitive

Diaz has a lot of skill for a 6'11'' guy, and should have a good career at Nebraska. If he gets stronger he could be a 12/7 guy at NU next year as a sophomore.

Nebraska should be much improved. I don't say that every year for those who say I do, because I had them finishing last in the Big 12 a year ago.

I think Brian Diaz, Christian Standhardinger, Eshaunte Jones, and Brandon Richardson are a very capable group of young players. Standhardinger should be really good, and Eshaunte Jones is going to be a premier 3pt shooter.

They add Caleb Walker (a 6'4'' slasher who was the Jayhawk West POTY in juco this past year) and Andre Almeida (a 6'11'' 300 juco post who should provide good depth).

NU just had 3 players transfer so they will probably sign another 2-3 juco guys to add to their core young guys.

I bet Doc gets them back in the NIT next year.

I only saw him play once, (at OSU) but Diaz was the worst player I'd seen all year. Looking at his stats and his good games (20 and 9 against Kansas?!), it's almost unbelievable that he had as good as season he did.

Must have been sick or something.

He had pretty solid games in a lot of Big 12 games. Double figures in about half of them. He was really weak and needs to get a lot stronger, but the skill is there.
