How do the coaches and media have Duke ahaed of Miami when Miami has a two game lead in the ACC?

Miami has not played Virginia yet but they have beaten Duke, swept NC and beaten NC State on the road. Miami, Virginia, Duke, NC and NC St are the top 5 teams in the ACC. Duke hasn't played Virginia, split with NC State, lost to Miami and has not played N.C. So you can't even argue it is a scheduling issue that will work itself out. Right now Miami is clearly the best team in the ACC.

miami has 3 loses and has lost to florida gulf coast and also indiana st

duke lost at nc state and at miami ..

I can't speak for the polls, but Saturday night on ESPN, Bruce Pearl justified it by saying Duke has the more impressive resume to date. I don't agree with them, but that's just what he said.

Yes and Miami won on the road at NC State and destoyed Duke. Duke got crushed by NC State on the road. I just couldn't justify voting Duke ahead of Miami if I were a voter.

Duke didn't get crushed by NC State on the road, it was a two point game at half and they ended up losing 84-76. They played that game without Ryan Kelly and Seth Curry left the game with an injury with about 10 mins left. That's 2 of their top 3 players.

Yes, Miami did give Duke a good beating but Miami has two bad losses, while Duke has wins over Minnesota, Ohio State, Louisville, NC State, Kentucky (when they were ranked #3). And 0 bad losses.

Duke won't miss shots like they did the first time around against Miami. They'll win on March 2nd in Cameron Indoor.

If Miami's two losses are bad, when they were without at least two starters, then Dook's loss to Miami is a really bad loss.:ez-laugh:

Indiana State was tied for the Valley lead until last night when they got upset in Springfield (FWIW, Creighton was upset by Ill. St. tonight, vaulting WSU into sole possession of the lead); that's not a horrible loss to me. ISU has beaten the 'canes, as well as Ole Miss, won at WSU (snapped the 'shocks 19 game home win streak), & they also blew out Creighton. Jake Odum is one of those "best players you've never heard of." Underestimate him (& ISU) at your own risk. They're a bit schizo (beat Miami, lost to Morehead) but when they're on their game they're a tough out.
