Post here if you liked the effort

we were outmatched athletically, size-wise and ability wise, but we competed and kept from getting blown out. Last year's team may have lost that game by 20-30 by not playing defense and jacking up bad shots.

I was proud of this team and the commentators obviously had some respect for them too. I also saw capel smile a couple of times. Something i didnt see last year.

+1000

Was very pleased with the effort today! After watching this game I think we are going to be a little better than I had expected. Just have to bring it every night! :clap:clap:clap:clap:clap:blair:

Very pleased with both the heart and hustle of the team today. Much more watchable than last year.

All of you that liked the effort (and those that liked it but won't post on here or haven't posted yet):

Let's get some folks to the rest of the non conference games. Do your part as a fan and spread the word!

Very pleased with the effort, was everything perfect and rosy, NO, but a definite improvement over last years team and they appear to be learning and getting better.
Was it just me or was there an inordinate amount of KY fans in the stands, it looked like a home game. What did Cal do, fly half the state to Hawaii to give them the edge in the stands? I was shocked by all the blue.....WOW

Why?
'Cause the BanMan CAN!

Kentucky basketball travels better than anyone in the country.

I'll be out there again. I won't lie. I wasn't going to spend my money if it was going to be like last year. Now that I'm seeing "heart" back in the program, I will vote with my pocketbook. I'll probably ante up for a pair of mini package tickets tomorrow.

I hope they keep up the improvement because I really like Coach Capel and I want him to succeed here.

I loved the effort today and I tweeted coach capel to let him know I loved it.

It is too bad we don't have Osby because this game would have been different. I don't think T.Jones would have been nearly as effective and we probably get a few more rebounds. Kentucky's length is really hard to prepare for. That is probably why we didn't see Newell as much tonight. Blair played well. Fitz was more effective than I thought he would be.

So proud of the team today. Excited for the future again.

You can't hate on the effort at all. Last years team falls behind by 18 points with 7 minutes left and they lose in a blowout. This years team fought back hard and got within 6. And Kentucky may be one of the best teams we'll see this year. Kansas, Baylor, and Kansas State are the only teams that will compare. Possibly Texas compares to them also. But I don't think we'll face a better player than Terrance Jones.

Loved the effort, guys !!!! Great game, even if we lost. I watched the whole game....Last year, I would have turned it off....Keep up the good work !!!!

In it to Win It with the Sooners

Yep, I think we were "out athleted", and if it were not for one T Jones we would have won. That guy is a beast. Very proud of our guys, we still have a ways to go but if we bring that effort every game I think we all will be pleasantly surprised.

A moral victory is still a defeat. That said, we had one of the best games of our short year so far, despite the final score. And a lot of the credit goes to this guy. :jcapel

I predicted a win. That didn't happen. However, that was a complete team that played out there tonight. I can't be more proud of the guys tonight. They have to keep their heads up and get this win tomorrow. This team has a lot going for itself. Is there room for improvement? You bet. I can't wait until to tomorrow to see how we come out and play. I hate losses, but tonight we showed that we were better than the pre-season big 12 ranking. If this team plays like this and keeps improving. There is no way we finish 12th in the conference. BOOMER SOONER BABY!!!

Loved the effort, but I really wasn't going to question our effort in getting up for Kentucky. The game I have had circled on this calendar since last March was the game against Virginia (most likely opponent). It's the opening day at Maui, think most of the lesser talented teams give their best performance.

Will the guys have anything left? How will they respond? To be honest, will be disappointed if we don't get the W tomorrow, assuming we get the Cavaliers.

This is a team that deserves to be supported and we all should be behind.

Boomer Sooner baby !

+1!!!!

I know I am definitely going to get out to some games ASAP to show that we as fans support THIS type of effort.

What I saw:

How refreshing is it to see the crimson and cream play this hard? I had a smile on my face much of the game. I cam into this season with very low expectations, and came out of tonight with much bigger ones. I think after North Carolina Central, they realized they probably can't beat too many teams on talent alone, and since then, they have brought it.

I know it is going to be frustrating at times this year, but there certainly is hope. We are definitely going to beat some opponents this year that have better talent because we will work harder and have better teamwork. Going into today, I though Kentucky was the biggest lock of the century at -13.5 but this team proved me wrong.

They are some correctable things (boxing out and not turning it over as much) from beating anyone. I think Fitz is a very solid post for being undersized. Newell will get better and more accustomed to D1 basketball. I was proud of Blair because he played big time minutes at the 1. I feel his year of experience made a huge difference. Cade really plays hard. He is awesome to watch.

After tonight, I don't feel there is any game that we can possibly win. If Clark can get more aggressive and accustomed to the college level, we will be tough. I hate losing, but there was some major positives coming out of today's efforts. Let's go win 2 in Maui and come back a better team.
