I'm curious where many of you see the Sooners ending up in March and what your expectations are of this team after the first half of the nonconference season.

I am actually very excited about the defensive potential (the help defense has been much improved) and depth of this team. I think the offense will get there and I believe in Kruger as a coach and a developer. I think this team will hit its stride at the right time and steals some extra wins in the Big 12.

I expect the Sooners to make the dance this year due to defense, depth and an apparently down Big 12. I will be disappointed otherwise.

What say you?

NCAA tournament. No question for me.

NIT, I hope for the NCAA but there are a lot of good teams out there in other confrences we may get buried behind. Hope not though.

Bubble for Tourney (TBD over the next month). NIT for sure.

I think the NCAA Tourney is very possible, but as KBaden said, "this next month is crucial"... If we can beat 2 out of 3 in the likes of Arkansas, A&M and Ohio, I think that will start us on a roll (10-2 Non-Conference). Then that means we still need to win at least 10 Conference games. That honestly seems a little tough... We would need to sweep TTU, TCU, and then split with WVU, OSU, KSU, ISU while stealing a couple wins from TU, BU, KU... I am not sure we can pull that off. But I think it is possible. We really need to finish the OOC games with zero losses to give ourselves a real shot.

The NIT though is probably where we will end up, and have a real shot to make some noise. Honestly, the NCAA Tournament may not afford us the opportunities that the NIT will... I know it is the better tournament, by far but, honestly how far do you think we will be able to get in the tournament?

So, I will go with, a NCAA bubble team and NIT top 3 seed, if not in the Tourney.

NIT if we hit 9-9 in coference. No postseason if we are 8-10

I think this is a bubble team unless they lose the rest of their non conference. 10-2 has to be worst non conference record. 9-9 is NIT and 10-8 is NCAA. Need to win 7 home games and 3 road. I think that is doable. Especially if Texas doesn't get PG back. Have to sweep Tech and TCU for sure. Then win on road against a Texas, WVU, KSU, ISU. Lose to KU at home and have one other mulligan to a Baylor or someone. If they continue to improve, especially newbies, it is possible.
