Hornbeak was off the crutches but still in the boot. He looked to be moving around pretty good. Woodard and Spangler seemed to be at full speed.
Practice started with the customary conditioning drills. It seems to me that Kruger is still running them hard later into this season than he has done previously.
The 1st drill had the guards going 3 on 3 at one end and the bigs 1 on 1 at the other. This was a defensive drill and it went on for 15/20 min. They then brought the Bigs up and went 4 on 4 for another 15/20 min. Once again, it was about defense. Then, finally, they went to 5 on 5 with the shot clock on for another 15/20 min.
This was all in the half court. It was full speed, full contact, and high intensity.
Sometimes, not often, Kruger will be good cop and either Crutchfield or Hill or both will be bad cop. Today Kruger was bad cop. There were no good cops.
All of them got some one on one coaching. Buddy and Bennett got more than their fair share but not more than they had coming.
When that wrapped up, they stayed 5 on 5 and went to a full court scrimmage for about 20 minuets. The 1's were executing well and making shots. Cam couldn't miss. Buddy didn't miss often. Cousins hit a couple of 3's from the corner. Including the drills and scrimmage Booker had a pretty good day. His overall game was good and he had a couple of streaks when his shot was falling pretty good. Woodard had a handful of how did he do that type passes.
After the scrimmage they broke out and took a little time to shoot 3's. When practice resumed the intensity level had come down. They spent the rest of the time working on offensive sets against the zone. When the white shirts went to offense, the 1's stayed in zone working on defense.
It appeared to be a good and productive practice. They go again in the morning at 10:30. Then they will leave for Houston as soon as they finish.
