Busy right now but I’ll update a tad later...

Interesting note- Doolittle was there watching

Implied starters- TYoung, Mcgusty, Lattin, Freeman, and Odomes.

TY was TY. great scorer but underrated passer and facilitator.
Lattin the lone senior but vocal leader.

Talk of Manek being better than freeman and I tend to agree but starting 2 true Freshmen would be a lot to ask.

James is a leader off the bench. Hungry for a starting spot but content to be that great role player off the bench.

Lazenby can score. Not sure the amount of mins but he can flat score.

Won't score 100 plus every game but they want to play fast as possible. sometimes just outscoring folks is still a good win.

Doolittle was there watching and will be when it allows. Not sure if he's enrolled anywhere but should be back in Dec after 1st semester is over.

I was not suprised when Kruger moved Isaih to point but will be suprised if Freeman starts.

Obviously, it wouldve been Doolittle had he been there. I think he starts after Christmas.

I am assuming James will be first off the bench? So we would run with odomes at the 4?

Also, I am really curious on his rotations since doolittle is out. Did you see a group of 5 that seemed like a great one to rely on during tough games or the final 4 minutes?

as soon as Manek passes the eye test defensively he will be starting.

manek or Doolittle will start at that spot for the bulk of the year. Freeman will play sparingly in the meat of the schedule.

If Freeman does start, who's to say he hasn't shown improvement and earned it? I mean, if he were as bad as some of you insist, why wouldn't Coach Kruger give Manek his minutes so he can get up to speed more quickly?

I think I'll just trust Coach Kruger and if he does start Freeman, I'll look forward to watching him play. I see little point in writing him off a month before his sophomore season starts.

I remember early on last year all three PF's (Buford-Doolittle-Freeman) started 1st semester games. I suspect we might see the same thing this year as well as various combinations including starting McNease (at the 5) and Christian James (at the 2).

I see LK as a mad scientist, trying to figure out a lineup with many options.

The best thing is he always sees the big picture above everything.

Yeah james is first off.

I dont remember seeing it but what intrigues me is our "death" lineup...
1. TY 2. Kam 3. James 4. Odomes 5. Lattin/Doolittle/manek

The death lineup I believe will be used this year. If James plays like he did in Australia he will have plenty of court time whether he starts or not. I hope Freeman is playing well enough to start. Manek was ahead of him in the summer but things change. Money will also get a bunch of minutes but unsure at whose expense. Of course he and Lattin need to avoid all of the foul trouble of last year.

not writing Freeman off at all. I am sure he will provide relief. Manek is just too big a redwood to leave riding pine.

Do you think he saw 11-20 in the wide-angle lens?

I think he knew he had a lot of young players trying to replace a number of seasoned veterans.

Was he surprised at the 11-20?, I'm sure he was. But if you would tell him when the season was over that Woodard would only play half the season, he might not be that surprised with the record.

Also, the team could have easily played close to .500 had they been able to close some games. Remember, they are human beings that play the games.

In the games last year that we faded down the stretch it seemed we just quit executing particularly of offense. We just didn't have anyone grab control and get us back in sync. I think Young will make a big difference here.

If you mean Young will also make a big difference as the team leader as well as keeping the team on track offensively, I agree 100%!

There were NO leaders on last year's team. Khareem talked about it, but he was never consistent in that role. Maybe he will be this year. Dante was said to be a locker room leader. He just didn't show it on the court where it really counts.

I have said since Trae committed to OU that he will be the leader we didn't have last year. He has already accepted the challenge. I agree with something he said in an interview recently. Trae said leaders are born, and that it's [paraphrasing here] not something you do out of necessity or because you simply want to be a leader.

There are exceptions, of course, but on the whole he is spot on about leaders being born to lead. Forget the usual, "he's a freshman" tag. This kid is a born leader! Everyone here will see that as the season progresses.

Looking forward to seeing the practice tomorrow morning. This team's turnaround from last year should be great to watch.
