Predict OU's Conference Record

How many B12 wins do we get?

  • Total voters
    46
  • Poll closed .
Nailed it at 7-11. Thanks for the bump.

So 36 of the 46 people that voted thought we would do BETTER than we did, yet there are still several posters that post daily about how we overachieved, and accomplished more than most fans thought we would.

Hopefully this bumped thread knocks off some of that ridiculousness.

And this was even after some of you had seen the team play for several months.

Off by 2, but wasn’t thinking McNeace’s season would essentially be a wash

Homer boards tends to yield homer results on polls

Expectations grew after the OOC, at the beginning of the season most thought the goal was the Dance.

We should do this every year and then bump it for bragging rights. Fun

The point is, anyone claiming that before the season started they expected us to be in the second round of the tournament is either lying or among a very small group of people who actually believed that. IIRC, even the most optimistic of us predicted that if things broke right, we would be in the mix for a bid. Sure, some folks changed their predictions 12 or 15 games into the season, but to use that to pretend the team didn't exceed expectations is disingenuous at best. It would be like getting on the board yesterday at halftime and predicting we were going to have a great shooting day.

This thread started late. Before season I would have hoped for where we wound up in conference. I am disappointed that we ended there after a good pre-conference. I thought I was seeing better shooting and defense than what we really had. I think we mostly lacked one or two superior athletes who could create against really physical defenses. Of course, we lacked inside play but that was a given from day 1.

But if I could have picked winning one game in NCAA before season ever started I would have bet against it. Mixed emotions for me but happy with where we are based on where I was in early November.
