PRESEASON CONDITIONING FINISHES TODAY
With the official start of practice one week from today, the Sooners wrap up their six-week preseason conditioning program this afternoon with post testing. Strength and conditioning coach Jozsef Szendrei will measure players' vertical leap and wingspan, will administer the NBA shuttle, the pro agility test, a 185-pound rep max on the bench press, and will count how many sit-ups and how many pull-ups players can do in one minute. Look for results and video next week.

Here are the best times posted by each player in the mile run over the past six weeks. The team ran seven times and junior Cade Davis finished first on each occasion.

Cade Davis: 5:19
Ryan Randolph: 5:32
T.J. Franklin: 5:43
Ray Willis: 5:43
Tony Crocker: 5:49
Beau Gerber: 5:49
Willie Warren: 5:54
Steven Pledger: 5:59
Barry Honore: 6:10
Andrew Fitzgerald: 6:13
Tommy Mason-Griffin: 6:15
Ryan Wright: 6:25
Tiny Gallon: 6:48
Kyle Hardrick: 6:48
Orlando Allen: 7:30

Very surprised to see Honore run a mile that fast and little disappointed in TMG. Is he at full strength?

Well, nobody regressed

You can't learn anything from a mile-run.

When I played, it wasn't how fast you could do it, was all about making a certain benchmark for someone your size and position.

TMG running talent should lie in the sprinting category rather than distance based on his body type. I am pretty impressed with the times overall.

Did Eaton ever run a timed mile?

These numbers aren't accurate. Most of these guys shaved a minute off of their initial times. Big ups to Kyle Hardrick who made some huge improvement on his time. He got chased down by Orlando Allen in the first video run, but beat him by a good 45 seconds in the last one.

Also, one thing to take into account is that the guys who carry more muscle like WW, TMG, and Ryan Wright are going to struggle a little more than the thinner guys. Especially if you have large thigh muscles like TMG. The reason is because muscle uses alot of oxygen.
