Press release with good details on Avila's OU signing

Why are we bashing Washington? It's not his fault he was asked to play a larger role than he should have been. That is on Capel. Guys like Washington played pretty nice bench roles for some of Kelvin's NCAA Tournament teams. We aren't Duke. We aren't KU. Our 10th, and 11th, and 12th, and 13th scholarship players aren't going to be studs. Never have been. The key to building a good team, and program, is to get SOMETHING out of those guys. If it's rebounding, or defense, or shooting.....doesn't matter. Washington would have been just fine as a 4th or 5th big man.

This. :clap

Orlando Allen was a 3 star who at least had offers from Minnesota and Nebraska. Avilia is unranked with no confirmed offers, took no other visits and just made it into recruiting databases.

As for the CJ Washington comparisons ... CJ was a 1st team NJCAA all american who averaged 19 and 13.

Expecting anything more than this guy being a warm body for scrimmages is foolish.

Minnesota and Nebraska? You do realize at that time, both were cellar teams in their respective conferences and I would say both were in the bottom 5 of all BCS conference basketball programs. Having those 2 schools recruiting a player at that point in time is nothing to point to as someone having some type of potential.

Try again.
