After reading the Sunday Oklahoma's Super 5 bios, it got me thinking about the rather surprising turn of events with the Player of the Year. Of course, that's Stevie Clark.

Has anyone heard what happened to turn him from being close to committing to OU to just acting like he never got an offer? Sorry if this rubs anyone the wrong way, but that has always bugged me about his recruitment.

That's what I've heard, but do we know why?

$$$$ heard the same thing! LK really only offered for face value. Knew he wasn't coming. Mom runs that show! Also bro won't be coming to OU, even after they made up an he is attending the spring game.

Wait, but how did OSU get him then?

There's more going on at OSU than people think.

Oh people know and it has been going on for awhile. Eddie I believe was clean while at OSU as he won on mostly transfers and lower rated guys. Based on conversations I've had with people well connected in the Texas AAU circuit that J'Covan Brown was also close to being bought by OSU. They tried their best but the kid wanted Texas.

On Clark, well he's a scorer and a good shooter, but also 5'8". Nah, I'll pass. Let's see them play Clark and Forte together and have any hope of defending the perimeter.

If OSU is buying players, I'm not sure I'm thrilled with the ROI.

Eh? Buy a better coach cause you all are getting the players.

However, we haven't been able to figure out how to buy players... our choices on these players haven't been the greatest..Tiny Gallon...smh...:facepalm

I wouldn't exactly call that "buying" a player (Tiny).

Stevie wasn't a fan of OU growing up from what I've been told.
He was more of an OSU fan and is literally the only one in his family who is an OSU fan.

Deondre supposedly was a bigtime OU fan growing up but it seems he has now switched his focused toward an SEC team, sadly...like many big time football recruits are doing.

I think Stevie would be going out of state somewhere had his transfer to Cali gone better.
But since he realized staying close to home is important - it really came down to Baylor or OSU.

Kruger backed off when Stevie eliminated OU from his top 5. There are articles about OU recruiting Stevie hard one day and then when Stevie lists his top 5 back in early fall....OU isn't on it and their focus turns toward Woodward

bbfan...that has some elements of truth to it, but Woodard was actually the first kid that OU offered a scholarship to. He was also the first kid that Kruger ever went to see when he arrived in Oklahoma. Kruger and OU didn't even start recruiting Clark until they saw that Woodard was in no hurry to make a decision. When OU got the word that Woodard would commit--Clark was no longer an option. OU was already a little uneasy about Clark and his "demands"...when Woodard pulled the trigger he was dropped. Clark then pulled out the "I'm not interested in OU card."
