Great job by the fans!!! It's pretty much common knowledge that a rowdy home crowd is good for a couple of extra whistles in their favor. If we take our blinders off, I think a solid argument can be made that it's basically what happened tonight. It certainly happens against us quite a bit...feels good to be the beneficiary once in a while.

Regardless, the crowd was super tonight and deserve some props....no doubt the OU players and coaches really appreciated it.

It was a top 10 game at home against your in state rival and there was still 1500 empty seats

Thunder home game, freezing temps, late start. It was a great crowd with all things considered.

Always excuses with ou fans when it's not football.

No need for excuses. The official attendance was 11,002. That's butts in seats by an actual ticket count at the entrances.

The total number of tickets sold was 13,093.

Tonight's crowd was well deserving of the props!

Your point is well taken but estimated attendance based of bar code scans at the gate list attendance at 11,002. Official capacity is 12,000. 11k for a college game with the Thunder playing in OKC is excellent attendance and the casual OKC basketball fan is seldom going to take the Sooners over the Thunder when they are the in vogue place to be and a much shorter drive.

What the game in Norman confirmed is that OU can still draw 11-12K to a basketball game and the remodeling of LNC makes much more sense than spending an extra $100 million for a new facility that will not enhance attendance over the long haul.

LNC was full enough and loud enough to provide the home court advantage that the team wants and needs. No question the student body provided the impetus to make for a rowdy LNC to provide the intimidation factor.
