William Jennings recently contacted Jurick and it appears to be good news for the Sooners.

Also a brief update on Jeremy Jones.

Update

Great news! Big Phil would give us a much needed shotblocking presence next year.

Good news it is... But we need him sign on the dotted line. ASAP

Cezar, Jurick and Jones would be a nice trio to close with in the spring signing period.

Abd can you tell me some about these juco point guards and thier game in comparison to Cezar? I believe Jurick is the cant miss guy in the group!

We needed some good news like the Titanic needed more life boats.

Honestly, the sooner the season ends, the better. We need to find out who's leaving so we know where we stand scholarship wise. The longer the uncertainty lasts the further we fall behind on guys we can't offer yet.

Obviously the team/coaches can't and shouldn't feel that way, but realistically it's for the best.

We only have 2 schollies available.

I kinda like the Blake Nash kid get if they dont get Cezar... averages 22 a game in juco, shoots 41% from the 3pt line, gets to the free throw line a lot too, and has West Virginia, Seton Hall, Rutgers Creighton, Georgetown, Nebraska, Iowa State, Oklahoma, and South Florida after him. Plus he redshirted a year in juco, and will have 3 years to play.

The problem with Nash is that he has said he wants to go to a place where he can start, AND play in the Big East.

Sam Grooms is probably the best juco point guard in the country, and he is widely believed to be a big difference maker. He has a lot of big schools recruiting him, and he would come in and be the starter from day #1. Not sure what OU's chances are with him.

I dont know anything about the Jeremy Jones guy, other than DM saying he is more of a shooting guard than a point guard

They are recruiting all of these guys hard, and we know they have offered Grooms and Cezar. The other guy said that OU is one of the top 3 schools recruiting him the hardest, but I dont know what that means in terms of OU's interest in him with Cezar and Grooms on the table.

As long as they get 1 of the 3, they will have a new starter at PG next season I think.

Not trying to be a party pooper, we just only have 2. I would love to sign three players. If we have 3-4 who IYO leaves? I think Hardrick is the only possibility now that he has grade issues. But if we sign both Cezar and Jones we'll have 3.5 PG's and 1.5 SG's.

I'd be shocked if Hardrick were back, so there's one.

I kinda think it would be best for both parties if Thompson moved on as well.

Thompson only has one year left to play. It would be pointless unless he went NAIA or something. I don't think he leaves. If Hardrick in fact doesn't come back I think we try for Jurrick, PG, and a true SG. I'm not a fan of 1-2 hybrids.

That's where he needs to be. So I don't think it would be a crazy notion for him to transfer to OBU or some place like that.

He'd be an All-American at that level, and I don't say that jokingly or to demean Nick.

Returning players for next year:

Scholarship (9-10)

Blair
Clark
Fitzgerald
Hardrick (maybe)
Neal
Newell
Osby
Pledger
Thompson
Washington

Walkon (2)

Franklin
Honore

Available Scholarships = 3-4 (the limit is 13, correct?). If Thompson and Hardrick leave we could have as many as 5. We already have Davis's, Abdi's and Taylor's ships open.

We would have room for Goff, Jurick, Jones, Guerrero and maybe one more.

It would be wise to have more than one scholly to give going into a new year IMO

Anyone know if OU has any interest in Jarion Henry and vice-versa?
