What is up with Darrell Williams? I see him listed on the roster. But his rape trial has been moved until after the Spring correct? Has he been cleared to play and work out with the team? That would make a big difference in OSU's frontcourt if he is ruled eligible to play.

He's not playing this year and will not be practicing. But, will still be going to school until the trial. What happens after the trial, no matter what the verdict is, is anyone's guess.

thanks HoHum

He wasn't in the team picture tweeted by one of the players.

Right, because he's suspended from team activities, working out, practices, etc... But, he's still on scholarship and still going to classes.

What's going on with Darnell Williams?

The basketball team has a goal set up outside BPS prior to each game. He was there week 1 rebounding for the kids shooting FTs & getting autographs. However, I did not see him there this past weekend.

But I believe the previous poster is correct in that he will not be part of the team this year.

Cobbins, Jurick and Soucek are going to have to play tough. Ford said that he's going to back to a 4 guard style of play, so guys like Nash, Olukemi and Williams will be playing the Obi Muenelo role.

I've somewhat written off Williams. He'll almost have a two year layoff by the time he's back to game action.

I have actually heard from a pretty good source up in Stillwater that the charges are going to be dropped, and Williams will play, if the charges are indeed dropped.

I'm sure HoHum and Dignon003 have better or more current information than I do, but I just thought I would pass along what I had heard.

I'm not sure anyone really knows. I certainly don't. I concern myself with the guys that are going to be playing.

1. Dowell
2. Brown
3. Nash
4. Cobbins
5. Olukemi
6. Jurick
7. Guerrero
8. Soucek
9. B. Williams
10. Gulley
11. Smart
12. Forte
13. Murphy

and D. Williams would put us over the limit for 2012. Unless he's made a walk on.

Why does OSU want this guy on the team? I recognize that you have to be careful about jumping to a conclusion of a kid being guilty based merely on a accusation; however, this kid is representing OSU. He needs to not have accusations like this made against him. He needs to be a good kid. If I were the coach, I think I would dismiss him from my team no matter what the outcome is. OSU is way bigger than this one kid and it should not be made to look bad.

The main reason is that the coaches and administration don't think he's guilty.

Basically from what one of his teammates told me he's getting charged with sexual battery for getting a lap dance. The letter to the police didn't come until several weeks after the party. People at OSU believe it's a woman scorned type situation.

I don't think OU or OSU fans want to get into a rock throwing match on who has the most police blotters. No one is spotless. Had a former Sooner on the front page of the local paper where I live just this last week.

What a totally convincing argument!

It is amazing how every time that an athlete/famous person/rich person is accused of sexual assault, it is always a woman scorned or out for money. It couldn't possibly be a case where the woman feared reprisal and had to be convinced to come forward. I'm sure she was spending those two weeks plotting how to take down Williams.

I'm not saying he is guilty; I haven't seen the evidence. But it is amazing how quickly people blame the victim, when it is someone on their team.

The guy wanted an explanation on why OSU hasn't thrown Williams under the bus.

Those are the reasons that were told to me by a current player. Believe it, don't believe it.

I wasn't trying to convince anyone of jack. It's the same old story, OSU player = guilty to OU fan innocent to OSU fan. OU player = guilty to OSU fan innocent to OU fan.

Trust me when I tell you that Tony would be reacting the same way if it was an OU player.
