My daughter texted me during the game to ask why the crowd wasn't 'into the game'. I replied that the network must not have the crowd mic'd up very well because the crowd seemed good to me.

Did it seem that the crowd wasn't good on TV?

The crowd was so lame that the announcers kept referencing how shocked they were that the OU crowd was so quiet.

At times, yes. I guessed it was because the game was uncomfortably close for too long. It could have just been where the mics were located.

Seemed like the crowd wasn't into the game in the first half. In the 2nd they were more vocal but still pretty quiet.

They didn't seem that quiet in the arena but it was definitely one of those games where the crowd wanted to bust loose but a turnover or missed shot interfered. We did bust loose on the officials quite a few times, though.

yup, considering we were down at first, tight game the whole way. Seemed more noise in the last 3 min when OU pulled away. Def not a "home" crowd...but didn't expect it.

It was definitely quiet for the most part. There were "pockets" of a home crowd atmosphere, but nothing which would intimidate any opponent. Part of the problem was the OU players not being able to consistently keep the crowd into it. Bakersfield started 8-0...the crowd was getting into it when OU was up 14-10, but next thing you know it's 19-14 Bakersfield...and the crowd was quiet again. It kind of went that way the entire game. The crowd did seem to enjoy the blocks by Manyang and Lattin. The players will need to generate the crowd excitement with their play. That's the only chance at a home crowd atmosphere...it won't start with the fans.
