1. Memphis will do well with Tubby, Pastner had talent but way underachieved with Tigers. Smith does a great job.

2. Jordan Shepherd is the future at point guard, Strong should play little, if it all. When Shepherd went out of the game and Woodard had foul trouble, Memphis started their comeback.

3. McNease played great, he won't play like that every night but some scoring from the backup post is a good thing.

4. I thought this team would be a good defensive team, frankly, they are awful. There are guys out there with no idea where their man or the ball is. Their inability to rotate was a killer today. Memphis capitalized on the boards as well.

5. It's a young team, true, and everyone knew there would be growing pains but this team has zero chance to make the NCAA Tournament with a lack of quality wins outside the league.

6. Maybe Trae Young sees opportunity, or he may see a team struggling to make post season while Kansas may be in the Final Four.

This really hurts us with Trae young imo.. it shouldn't, cuz he'd star for 4 years but i think it will

That logic is absurd. Kansas and Kentucky have ten times better pg prospects than ou does.

Wut? Why do you think Trae is as dumb as our fans, who don't understand the concept of young teams struggling, and that players get better as their careers progress.

I bet Trae understands things much better than we think..he has plenty of folks giving him advice.

I meant in regards to our team struggling. He'd take shepards spot day 1

1st )
Tubby didn't even pressure Shepard , we honestly don't know what he can really do as a pg. Kruger just wants his best 5 on the court and with him freeing up Woodard , it definitely helps. Please don't anoint him our next 4 year starter .
2nd)
McNease played great He deserves more minutes . Lattin is going on his third year season of playing out of control , no offensive game what so ever and no ability to stay out of foul trouble and stay in a game . McNease should get more of his minutes even without foul trouble.
3rd) did Lon, staff , and James all forget he had 4 fouls ??? Why Have him foul ???

Jamuni has really improved offensively, but outside of his blocked shots, still lost defensively

They did pressure him and he handled it well. He was really good on offense, terrible on defense.

The team cannot continue to lose games like this one and expect to recruit Trae. It's that simple. The more last year looks like a fluke, the more likely he heads to KU.

Totally disagree with you. Some of you are looking at these losses from a pure black and white perspective. In each of our 4 losses, we have led most of the game in practically all of them. I did not see the Wisc game...since I don't have the Big 10 network...but they are the best team we have played...and we even led them at halftime on their home court!!!! We were up on NI by 19, led practically all the WSU game and led 95% of the time today...and if Memphis hadn't got lucky at the FT line, would have won.

A loss is still a loss...but it's much different then getting blown out 4 times and never being in the game.

Luckily, Trae is smart enough to realize this and knows what he could add to this team over the next few years. As bad as some of you think it is..we are very close to being 8-2 or 9-1....even though it may not seem like it. This year's team has a lot of talented pieces and will only get better. And when you consider that, plus the pieces we will add next year + Trae....we are right back in the thick of things.

It all depends on which way you choose to look at things. I'd rather defense be our weakness...rather than offense. IO, it's easier to improve in that area, than it is to go from an average scoring team to a good one.

I don't know how anyone could call last year a fluke. You saw the steady progression from Hield/Cousins freshman year. It was all very deserved and even expected.

Making the Final Four is a total fluke when you made the Sweet 16 the year before and were in the tournament the 2 years before that...

OU currently has a longer streak of NCAA Tournament appearance than KENTUCKY does. There are only like 10 programs in the nation that have made the tournament the last 5 years.

So many people on this board have absolutely ridiculous expectations.

Points to Make.
The inside D is terrible. After the brothers make several shots, some one has to put a hard foul on them. Nothing dirty, but a tough foul. We play too soft.

We have decent depth... Why not pressure the ball with the guys that play < 10min a game.
They would not have made 90+% if they were pressured.
We got out coached badly. Memphis passed the ball much better than us. All teams move and pass better than us.

I wouldn't mind pressing. We threw a little press at ORU and bumped up our lead quick. We certainly have plenty of guys.

here is my take .. we lost because Memphis didn't play like Memphis .. the were 28/32 on FF they shoot 61% for the season

martin was 50% on FF coming into the game and he went 10-12 he was a 27% 3point shooter and went 3-6 including two from deep with a hand in his face ..
