I just put this preview together using one of my visualization tools:

http://public.tableausoftware.com/shared/5Z2DR9KXK?:display_count=yes

It is an interactive visualization of the 2 teams' players, as rated by Advanced Statistical Plus/Minus.

Highlights:

  • Ro is by far the best offensive player in the game today
  • SD State has 3 very good players, equal to Ro in overall ability (better on D, worse on O): Chase Tapley at G, Jamaal Franklin on the wing, and reserve Skylar Spencer in the post.
  • Spencer and Franklin are better on D than anybody OU has.
  • SD State is shallow. They have 3 really good players, a couple of decent players, and then it gets pretty sparse
  • OU, on the other hand, has 1 really good player, 1 good player (Pledger), and a bunch of decent players.

We've missed your contributions on here, DSM!

Much appreciated.
