Random thoughts on the game

I think it will be interesting to see how LaNesia and Gileysa approach the next few weeks. Derica is still in the hunt. We have seen so little of Penzo that we don't exactly know who she is yet, and she came in a year younger than most freshmen. We haven't seen how much progress that LaNesia and Derica have made. Sherri has been complimentary of both.

Does anything change if McKenna is back and healthy? She can play the four. Would McKenna at the four free up Maddie for the three? Does that enter into the picture?

We have one exhibition and a lot of wondering.

I'm thinking right now the 5th is Penzo or LaNeshia.

Perhaps it was opposition, but LaNeshia was a force when she was in there.

I thought Penzo was very solid (as was EJ), but a step or two slow also.

Maddie settled down in the second half and looked the best she's ever looked, IMO.

She is going to be our Kevin Durant. Very versatile.

I think roc and I have been comparing her to Magic Johnson because of her versatility. She actually can play the one through four. Magic played the five due to an injury to Jabbar (?) in the playoffs. LA won. Magic starred at the five. Maddie has actually been the closest thing to a post on the floor at times.

Pretty much!!! I think Maddie can go and score any time she wants. After watching the game, I would love to see her at the high post for a set or two, with Kay Kay or Vivi on the low block. I don't think she could be stopped. With the kids we have right now, I just think we could have a very versatile offense that can go inside/out, or dribble drive and pass. It is very early, but I like what I see so far.

Our three posts combined for 39 points and 18 rebounds, that is a strong statement from the position.
