Lon Kruger is building something special at Oklahoma. He's obviously got a plan, and I'm 100% behind him.

Buddy Hield reminds me a lot of Hollis Price in how he plays the game. I doubt Buddy will ever be as good of a shooter as Hollis, but the fans love him for a lot of the same reasons we loved Hollis.

We are brutally bad defensively right now, but we will get better. I think it's going to take everyone a lot of time to get used to these new rules.

The free-throw shooting was killing me. Come on, Spangler!

Jordan Woodward - what potential! He had a few too many turnovers tonight (4), but that will improve. These young guys have a chance to be really, really good. I love the type of players that Kruger recruits. They are all skilled and play within the role that Kruger has assigned to them.

Spangler is more than I hoped he would be after the first two games. He'sa lot tougher and physical than I thought he would be. Very pleased!

We need more butts in the seats. This team is fun to watch! While everyone thought Capel was going to bring a more exciting brand of basketball to the LNC, Kruger is actually delivering it. This is good stuff.

Give him two more years, and Kruger will have us in the Elite 8. Love the state of the program!

I agree totally, this team is going to be fun to watch as it matures.

It has some issues right now (stopping dribble penetration and transition defense for starters) but LK will work on them as the year goes along.

I love the tempo on offense, the future looks bright.

Fran Frischilla said it best when he said the LK is a program builder and OU fans are seeing it.

Nice post, SK! Good to see you back.

Before the season started, most of us were wondering where out points would come from this season. The goods news is that five or six guys on this team appear to be capable of scoring 15 or more on a given night. I like our balance so far.

I never dreamed we'd be more concerned about defense than offense, though. I think this team has tools to be very good defensively. But they have got to improve their transition defense and stopping the penetration dribble. IMO, the way the games are being called now has made them overly cautious in those two areas. That has to change to give us any chance of beating the better teams on our schedule.

I was just telling my wife this evening about OU's future. I said that they get those big men scheduled to come in next year, by the time Hield, Hornbeak, and Cousins are seniors they will be poised to make the Final Four. I'm sticking to this prediction.

I agree completely. Haven't enjoyed a team like this since 2008, but really I haven't loved a team like this since 2005. I really like the style we are aiming for.

Hield attacks the run so much better than Hollis ever did it is really not close

It's funny because when Kruger was hired 2 years ago, it looked like it may be 4 or 5 years before we have a WINNING team. Our program was in that kind of shape. Now, not even 3 years later we have fans talking about "elite 8" and "final 4".

I love it!!! :clap :krugs

Going into this season I did not have a lot of high hopes. I think OU might be able to win 10+ in conference play. If that happens, I am gong to have big expectations for the next two years.

There is lots of room to improve defensively but I have confidence Kruger will make the guys improve. I am excited with the offensive production. It is still early and the competition will get tougher but OU scoring points and that was my biggest concern.

Guys, every team in the country is going to need time to adjust to the new rules.
The officials no longer allow you to put your hands on the ball handler or check
him with your body. We are going to get better defensively but we are going to
have to learn what the refs will allow before that happens. The NBA went through
this about 15 years ago.

Everything changed about half way thru fall practice. Buddy is as guilty as anyone when it comes to letting some one get by him. And we all know he can guard just about everyone when he can hand check them.

The good news is that we are not fouling out. Cam and Bennett both fell asleep some down low again. They will get better.
