A lot has been said about how athletic some recruits are such as Llanusa, Franks, Walters, Thomas, etc.

Assuming 1 equates to a bad athlete and a 10 represents an elite athlete, how would you rank our players? We haven't seen a great deal of our newbies but give it your best shot anyway. Do not consider skill level, only athleticism.

Just to save time, you can copy the following roster and paste it into your post.

Vionise Pierre-Louis-
Nicole Kornet-
T'ona Edwards-
Peyton Little-
Derica Wyatt-
Gileysa Penzo-
Gabbi Ortiz-
Shaya Kellogg-
Maddie Manning-
Sharane Campbell-
Gioya Carter-
McKenna Treece-
LaNeisa Williams-
Kaylon Williams-

Okay, I'll give it a shot:

T'ona Edwards- 9.0
LaNeisa Williams- 8.5
Gioya Carter- 8.0
Sharane Campbell- 8.0
Maddie Manning- 7.5
Gileysa Penzo- 7.0
Gabbi Ortiz- 7.0
Peyton Little- 7.0
Nicole Kornet- 6.0
Derica Wyatt- 6.0
Shaya Kellogg- 6.0
Vionise Pierre-Louis- 5.0
McKenna Treece- 5.0
Kaylon Williams- 5.0

I'm sorry. I put this under the wrong thread.

Not having any legitimate information on Little, Ortiz, Pierre-Louis, Williams, Treece, or Penzo, I won't include them.

9.0 Maddie Manning. I think this may be underrating her. We'll see.
8.0 Gioya Carter. Has no idea how to use it yet.
7.5 Nicole Kornet. She moves well, but uncertainly. Calm down.
7.2 Kaylon Williams. Sherri's frustration is that she doesn't use it yet.
6.5 T'Ona Edwards. Has no idea how to use it on offense.
6.3 Sharane Campbell. Uses more than she actually has.
6.3 Shaya Kellogg. Uncertain. Many contradictory indications.
5.0 Derica Wyatt. More effective than raw talent.

I assume the rating of Manning does not take into account any possible lingering effects of her surgeries.

I feel like people's definition of athleticism differs greatly. To me it combines all things like quickness, strength, jumping ability, and coordination. Here is my best guess. I will only do returning players + Williams (seen her play multiple times in HS)

8.5 Gioya Carter-has a great combo of all things mentioned above.
8.0 Sharane Campbell- Not far off from Carter at all.
8.0 Lanesia Williams- Possible lock down defender.
7.5 Maddie Manning- I can't see her being the same Maddie athletically after knee problems.
7.0 Kaylon Williams- Stronger than most posts, just doesn't play that way.
7.0 T'ona Edwards- Extremely quick, but size limits ability to show off other attributes.
6.0 Nicole Kornet- Solid athlete, just not spectacular in anything.
5.5 Shaya Kellogg- Didn't see enough of her to get a great gauge on this.
5.0 Derica Wyatt- Same as Kellogg.

pure athleticism

Tona Edwards
Maddie Manning
Sharane Campbell
Gioya Carter
Kaylon Williams
Nicole Kornett
Derica Wyatt
Shaya Kellog

Just ranking in order, not giving a number and not ranking the incoming players because I have not seen them. I have also not seen Peyton, though I know she played in some preseason games last year, so leaving her out.

Who do you think was Sherri's most athletic player since 2000?
On pure athleticism, I think it would be DRob. Amanda ranks pretty well. I don't know that Ny ever learned to use hers all that well, and she became a pretty good guard without using her ability.

I think Maddie might have been, but I don't know how her injury will heal.

The ones I would consider are:

Nyeshia Stevenson- fast, quick, could grab the rim

Maria Villarroel- fast, quick

DRob- fast, quick, with an explosive first step

T'ona Edwards- not sure how fast she is but very quick

I would go with Nyeshia. Her jumping ability sets her apart from the others in my opinion. She wasn't the best basketball player, that honor goes to DRob by a wide margin but, as far as a pure athlete, Ny didn't take a backseat to anyone.

LaNeisa
Maddie
Gioya
T'ona
Gabbi
Sharane
Gileysa
Peyton
Derica
Nicole
Vionise
Kaylon
Shayla
McKenna

My top five would be Danielle, Maria, Ny, Dionna, and Caufield.
