A power forward that can guard a 4 man to man, so we don't have to play zone all the time. A kid with girth can guard a taller 5, but a bigger heavier kid usually doesn't have the lateral quickness to guard a forward. I believe this was one of our problems this year. When we put to bigs on the floor, we absolutely couldn't play man to man defense, and when we went to a four guard lineup with Croc at the 4, he did the best he could but we were eaten alive on the boards against the good teams.
After a "patillo" type 4, then I just think we need some good players of about any type, e.g. a point wouldn't hurt, a wing that can and will play defense, a big. We just need some good players that will defend and work.
I know some think Aziz or another big is the answer, but if Tiny comes back, I think Ting, Drew and Orlando can man the 5 just fine.
I happen to think we are holding out for Jones, and if that doesn't work out, and a backup plan doesn't emerge, Jeff is going to ask Clark to man the 4 for a year and until he can fill that position with another player. This probably wouldn't sit well with Clark, I have read statements by him that he sees himself as a perimeter player. But, I think this is what happens.
