The missed possession arrow pissed me off at the time but it didn't cost us. However, Cousins technical cost us dearly. We went from having possession of the ball to WV getting 2 FT's and a 3 point shot. That beat us.

That T was a weak call considering the junk they let wvu get away with. How did they miss the guy shove cousins when he was in between shooting free throws?

I don't know. I thought they were about to call a T on Cousins there because it looked like he mouthed off to the ref. In fact, I'm sure he did.

Let's face it, Cousins has a reputation so it doesn't take much for the ref to call him for a T. In fact, they are looking for it and opposing teams know to get under his skin.

Cousins let's his emotions get the best of him sometimes, but he rarely does anything maliciously. He has earned most of his Ts, though.

I hope he mouthed off to the refs because they flat out sucked ass. If Lon would have gotten a T, I would have applauded him. He probably would have gotten us a few more calls, too, but that's not his style.

You guys don't give the other teams credit for anything. West Virginia is pretty dang good. They weren't second in the league because they stink.

Not sure how you came up with that but I'll give them a lot of credit. They shot better then their average from the 3 point line and forced us into way too many TO's. Is that to their credit? Yes it is. But it's also our fault we allowed a team to turn us over when we were very aware of how they play…and our seniors were primarily responsible for way too many of the TO's.

WVa is a good team that forces teams out of their comfort zone. We didn't handle it well that's why they won.

So there you go…they get their credit!

Cousins "swung" not great, but he did swing at a wv after the refs called a foul ON WV on his drive. That is what I saw as to why the T. So, we got the call, would have had the ball.

He losses it, so instead of a foul on wv and our ball, it's their ball, 2 FT's and possession.

If you don't think the conf players KNOW they can get under his skin you're delusional.

i think they got overwhelmed by WVa's style as much as OU did. They missed some for sure. The possession arrow was inexcusable. But make no mistake we lost the game by our own horrible play. Somehow we saved face the last 5 minutes.

Finally someone preaching what I'm preaching. This full court pressure BS would've fouled them out of the game well before the last 2 minutes had the definition of a foul not changed during the course of the game. But that's the problem... the full court defense allows for foul insensitivity to plague the human refs. By the time the OU/WV game was in the final seconds you could've probably gotten away with a fore arm shiver in the middle of the lane on your opponent trying to win with a last second layup! Oh wait!

In a neatly contested game anytime a defender bumps or impedes the progress of the ball handler causing the ball to be mishandled it's a foul. But when not called consistently it allows the defense to get away with causing more turnovers than need be. If those ticky tack fouls are not called and you take advantage of that by extending your defense to full court bumps and slaps... well good luck playing rugby with that basketball!

No matter though. Soon we will have Robot refs.
Robot refs will put an end to the ridiculous full court slapping and bumping press epidemic. After putting the other team in the bonus 5 min into the game... coaches will have to re-think their strategy.
