And as OU fans, we're supposed to hope for him to go to any school but Kentucky, because we should be more concerned about them than schools we actually play. Or something like that.

and its going to work out quite well for them next year too
Seriously. Cal's recruiting has netted them 3 final fours and a national championship, to go along with this year's disappointment (which I might add was hampered by them losing the number 1 recruit in the country to a knee injury). They're going to end up with another 38-2 type national championship season next year.

I am sure I would love it if OU could do what Kentucky is doing but is it really a college basketball team when virtualy the entire team comes for one year and then goes to the NBA? It is almost an NBA 9 month pre-draft camp.

No, it hurts college basketball and it's ridiculous. They should just let them go straight the pro game.

It's highly improbable that Kentucky is playing by the rules. They're $$$$$$ recruiting so well. What are the odds that Kentucky is cheating vs playing fairly. I think Vegas would bet on Kentucky cheating.

Oh well there is no question they are cheaters coupled with the fact that these one one doners are told they don't have to bother with school and any of that distraction while at UK. Fact. Wiggins would give them 7 McDonald's AA in this class alone. I believe 9 or 10 on the team. Most of the time recruits will shy away from that but not at UK because they don't have to do anything but play basketball, hang out with Jay Z, and get paid. UK is such a joke, but with the current state of the NCAA they aren't exactly paying attention because it's kind of a joke as well.
That said, I think Wiggins picks FSU or UNC.

It is fun and all but Calipari is a known cheater. . . Everywhere he goes he leaves behind a program on probation and some kind of scandal. No way he is all of a sudden on the up and up. The house of cards will eventually fall and probably end up with a bunch of vacated wins and maybe a vacated title.

The crazy thing is that every fan, commentator, media outlet, etc., seems to agree with this sentiment.... and yet nothing gets done about it.
Who is the body that would be required to act here? The NBA? The NCAA? Both?
Seriously... let kids go straight to the NBA if they want, but if you decide to go to college, you have to be there at least 3 years, just like football and baseball.
Everyone seems to agree that would help the college game tremendously, it would also likely help a lot of the kids who declare and aren't really ready... and yet nobody seems to have the balls/will/ability to make it happen.
What gives?
NBA players union. I don't understand exactly why they have taken their current position.

Protect their investment. If I remember correctly during the last CBA, The NBA wants 2 years in college, but the players union won out and left it at 1.

They didn't win-out, the issue was merely tabled.
They plan on meeting again to discuss the issue this summer.
IF AND ONLY IF the rule is changed this summer, thats big-time trouble.
The rule would take place immediately, meaning Kentucky's incoming freshman would be required to stay at least 2 seasons....
How is it bad for the college game to have Carmelo, Kevin Durant, John Wall, Anthony Davis, etc for even 1 year?
The ridiculous argument is that it would be better if they never played college ball. News flash. Talent is the only reason to watch. It was bad for college ball that Kobe & Lebron didn't play a year. Not the other way around.
