Back in 2009, he was diagnosed with inoperable spinal tumors and we who knew him all assumed the worst. He never, ever missed an Othello's open mic, even as his mobility went downhill. The man was dedicated to making people happy in a way I haven't seen many people dedicated to anything. He got eight years on this earth that no one would have predicted and did his level best to make them matter. He'll be missed, and we as fans of OU sports ought to miss him all the more.
