RT @nbadraftblog: @JasonKingESPN @GaryBedore Osby did a very good job at the combine in NJ today. Plenty of people noticed

My buddy @GaryBedore just asked a great question: Why isn't Oklahoma's Romero Osby not generating any (2nd rd) draft buzz? Awesome player.

Anybody know what he officially measured? Houck says he tries to always be very accurate with his height measurements at OU so I'm curious where the pros list him. Watched the Pacers-Heat last night and Ro reminds me of a smaller David West. An athletic 6-8 stretch 4 with loads of class, character, and work ethic sounds tailor made for the NBA.

If I am Ro, would rather go undrafted than late second round.

I have a feeling size, or lack there-of, is going to keep Ro out of the NBA.

It will NOT be from lack of effort. I've followed what he has done since the season ended on Twitter, and that dude has done everything possible to impress the NBA folks. Ro is a good dude. Hope he gets a shot, but he'll be successful wherever he ends up.

If he doesn't make it, I could see him playing at a high level over seas and then being a coach.

If he can improve his jump shot, I could see him turning into a Kawhi Leonard type of player.

Just got measured:

6'-6" w/o shoes
240
6'-9.75" Wingspan
8'-8" Standing Reach
8.9% Body Fat
31.5" No Step Vertical
35.5" Max Vertical
13x Bench
12.11 second Agility
3.35 second Sprint

Will have to be a SF at the next level probably.

Possibly a Carl Landry with better range? Pretty similar specs.

Just ran my similarity scores for draft picks to get physical comps:

In the top 25 (out of ~1150 players in DB):

Eduardo Najera
Arsalan Kazemi
Joe Johnson
Chuck Hayes
Tobias Harris
Ryan Humphrey

What was his measurement with shoes? No one plays hoops barefoot in the NBA

I am surprised Osby only benched 185 13 times. Thought he would put up 17-20

185 pounds at 13 reps puts him pretty close to 250 for a 1 rep max. That means he can basically bench his body weight...I thought he was a bit stronger than that. But if he's been impressive, that's all that matters. :) We're all rooting hard for him, that's for sure.

Those measurements probably keep him out of the NBA. He really needed to be 6'7+. He doesn't have the skills to play SF in the NBA, and now is below the threshold of most PF's. It's not impossible, but in a day and age where the NFL and NBA draft on potential and body-type as much as anything, I think Osby's chances really took a hit.

Too bad.
