That’s kind of what I thought. I think the mystery pre game injury was a ruseHe's healthy. He is redshirting.
Same with Dolby. That’s kind of what I thought. I think the mystery pre game injury was a ruse
It sounds like the coaches want Barnes and Dolby to play but those guys decided they want to save their eligibility and transfer. The test will come if one of them is needed due to an injury to someone ahead of them on the depth chart. That will be a test of the “culture” that supposedly exists.Redshirting players is dumb. Let’s save that eligibility so they can go play an extra year for Baylor or Arkansas or whatever!
i cant blame them this is likely among the highest earnings they will ever have and they should maximize themIt sounds like the coaches want Barnes and Dolby to play but those guys decided they want to save their eligibility and transfer. I can see both sides. But there are lots of players who stick around as backups and don’t redshirt, and obviously if everyone took this route, it would be virtually impossible to even field a team. The Barnes decision might be a blessing in disguise because given how badly we have handled the running back rotations, I think we probably would have been wasting reps on him rather than narrowing it down to X and Blaylock. Dolby is a tougher call. As good as the defense is, it still seems like he could help in some way if he could round back into form.i cant blame them this is likely among the highest earnings they will ever have and they should maximize them
The dumb nil rules need to be reworked so they cannot do this anymore.Redshirting players is dumb. Let’s save that eligibility so they can go play an extra year for Baylor or Arkansas or whatever!
I can. I dont care about their careers. They may very well go to our arch rivals next year. Could upset us and prevent us from a natty in any given year. Why are we helping them out? They're paid for this year.. this is ridiculousi cant blame them this is likely among the highest earnings they will ever have and they should maximize them
I’m not sure of the answer to this question, but there may be provisions in the NIL deals now where schools can get some money back from players in this kind of situation. I think if a healthy player just refuses to play, there is some protection for the school. Like I said, I am not sure about that, but I have read some things recently that suggest that’s the case.I can. I dont care about their careers. They may very well go to our arch rivals next year. Only an idiot/desperate nil group or booster would not have protections.. I think as the market flattens there will also be more and more control/protections (i.e., you sign autos every monday at my dealership or if you do not play this year you get only 25% of your take)I’m not sure of the answer to this question, but there may be provisions in the NIL deals now where schools can get some money back from players in this kind of situation. Figured so.
Timely article that just posted. So I guess it just depends on how the contact is written. This seems to indicate that the KSU guy would have kept getting paid if he had stayed on the team, even if he declined to play in his fifth game.
