will go down as one of my favorite all-time Sooners. I hope he puts a stamp on this great year by leading us to a run in the dance so that all Sooner fans can see just how great of a player and person that he is...

Here's to you, Romero! Thanks for being a Sooner. :clap

I was thinking the same thing last night watching the game. He has really turned it on the last 5 or 6 games. As an OU alum, I am proud that he is playing on my team. I fear that we will really miss him next year. Not only for his skill, but for his leadership.

He's turned it on to a level I didn't think he'd reach especially after not playing that well earlier this season - really transformed into that go to guy who's a matchup nightmare for other teams. When we need a basket we feed Roe and know good things are gonna happen, huge when trying to finish games.

Capel wasnt exaggerating when he spoke of how good he was. But even more important is his poise and leadership. I agree completely with all that has been said about him in the several threads today.

The kid continues to impress:

@RJ_Young: Ro Osby left himself off his All-Big 12 first team. If he's voted onto it, he'll take it, but "I want to win a championship," he said.

He has been an amazing leader this season and will be missed. Hopefully M'Baye can evolve into the player that Osby has turned into next season.

Does anyone else think of Aaron McGhee when they see Osby?

I can see a similarity in their skills. You can almost see that 'Oh, S***!", look on the face of his defenders when he gets the ball. But, I don't think Ace was the leader that Osby is.

+1 , I think having a daughter has made Ro a much stronger Character leader than even the most mature of 22 year olds

I've really appreciated his leadership for 2 years now, and his play of late has been unreal. The things I'll probably always remember is how he reacted to Amath's horns down...I have a feeling OU fans will refer back to that play anytime one of our own does something that rubs us the wrong way. Gotta love Ro.

His reaction took Amath out of the came and arguably had a larger impact on the outcome than the gesture itself.

I made the comparison prior to the season. Ro hasn't shot from 3 as often as Aaron but I would say most of their numbers are very comparable. Ro brings more to the team with intangibles, leadership, accountability than Aaron did and is a better rebounder and defender. I'd say he has been more consistent game to game but Aaron was in full on beast mode during the last half of conference play and post season.

Everyone should know by now how I feel about Romero Osby. He moved to the top of my favorites list after I met him at the Alumni game last season. He was so gracious and polite that I liked him right away. Forget that he's a special player, he's an even better person. And now that I have seen Yolanda and that precious little girl, it's easy to see why he has worked so hard this year.

Ro will definitely be missed next season. We'll miss his scoring, his rebounding and his hustle plays, but we'll miss his leadership and his infectious personality even more.

This is the biggie for me. Replacing a guy's playing ability is one thing, but there'll be some serious stepping up to do in this department when he's gone.

I hope this guy makes it somehow in the pros! He may not have all the flash, but we know one thing: dude will put in the work to be a good pro. We need more men like this as role models, and if he were in a position like that you know he would use it to make influence. I know he may not have the "talent" to make it in the pros, but who knows, maybe he will surprise us all!

And my man-crush worsens...

I'm With you on that one BigTime! I work with teenagers in my profession, and let me tell you, this world needs more young men like this. This world needs More Dads like this man seems to be!
