If we process Northweather, Yaya, Cole, and keep everyone except maybe Duke, that will be a major off-season win. Okay with Duke, but it has to be off the bench.I think Wague and jones are both staying
yaya was the 15th "scholarship" guy last season he was an injured walk on ..If we process Northweather, Yaya, Cole, and keep everyone except maybe Duke, that will be a major off-season win. Okay with Duke, but it has to be off the bench.
Everyone (well, most everyone) on this board would see that as a win, especially if we can up the NIL to replace the 5 spots available. A little turnover is okay if it's upgrading.
Get a couple of bigs, like Stillwell and the dude from Indiana, land a scoring wing, and a quality PG and that would be a better roster.
you tell him you want him to stay be a team leader and compete for a starting spot ..Porter’s message to Miles needs to be either stay and play a more limited role (like 7th man) or enter the portal
Wague has to like his odds at starting which is not a guarantee elsewhere. And that is worth a lot in itself as far as visibility. I'd be shocked if wague left and I don't think he'd get many offers elsewhere for essentially his half season of playThis was a hypothetical if/when Moser left but it's going kind of according to plan thus far anyway....
Cole
Northweather
Keita
Out.
My guess is Atak will stay since Moser seems to be staying.
Wague....idk. When I typed that breakdown, Wague was just doing okay-ish. He started playing a lot better after, of course.
Miles and Jones are up in the air. It could end up becoming Jones stays and Miles leaves...best guess.
It's official: Chavez is a Sooner.She’s unreal.
I think she’s on the Paige Buerkers level talent.
If this is what it takes to start getting some momentum for more Hamm money to the men's team, then why not. I hope she balls out so the hamm investment pays off and encourages more $$$It's official: Chavez is a Sooner.
Thank God for our women's programs. They are just about the only source of consistently good news these days. It's official: Chavez is a Sooner.
Is this how we got her? I know Harold Hamm was at the game on Saturday. If this is what it takes to start getting some momentum for more Hamm money to the men's team, then why not. I hope she balls out so the hamm investment pays off and encourages more $$$
Might be the most osu-iest phrase I've ever readCan someone repost the last positive comment made by wichita sooner? The men just lost a good game in the tourney? How the year went, I would have thought a beatdown but played horribly on offense and still almost won. I guess you will say uconn wasn't any good but took florida to the end? Ou football has hired really good coaches to replace the ones that left and mateer seems to be the real deal. Baseball is playing well !!! Ranked 10#
I'm sure money played a big role, of course, but she seems genuinely excited about being a Sooner. Said she loves Jenny and the coaching staff and the style of play.Is this how we got her? I know Harold Hamm was at the game on Saturday.
I figured it took a big bag of cash to keep her away from Texas.
Good job. I am ou fan , you don't get tired of all the negativity on this board? Is this what the board is? A counseling session for bitter ou fans? Hide behind a computer and spew what they want? Then can't expect a response. I come on to look at recruiting updates, portal and the games and it's a bitch session. I feel like it's Cnn about trump.Might be the most osu-iest post I've ever read
The board typically reflects the state of the program. When things are going well, the board is upbeat. When they aren't, it is much more negative. What do OU men's bball fans have to be overly positive about at the moment? We squeaked into the tourney for the first time in four seasons and got bounced in round one. We keep getting told we don't have money to get the top tier portal guys so most of us expect to settle for lower tier portal players. The potential new arena feels like its constantly one step forward and two steps back. Our two best players by far this season will both be gone next year. Its tough sledding right now.Good job. Ou was picked 14, finished 14 and made the tourney, frustrating to lose 4 or 5 close ones, but the roster was not good, agreed portal needs to hit this year. The non-conference got my hopes up but probably masked the line-up.The board typically reflects the state of the program. When things are going well, the board is upbeat. Of course, all of that can change with a solid portal window in the next couple of months. We seem to have already trimmed the fat from this past years roster in Northweather, Yaya, and Cole. Question is, can we actually replace them with guys that are worth rostering in the SEC? Can we get a collection of players capable of replacing what we are losing in Fears and Moore? Can we find guys that offset our weaknesses on the boards and on defense this year? Gonna be interesting to see who we can get.
That's the problem. OU met expectations when expectations were in the basement. Who is going to be excited about that? Moser is responsible for putting together the roster and he did not do a good job last year besides lucking into a lottery pick at the 11th hour.Ou was picked 14, finished 14 and made the tourney, frustrating to lose 4 or 5 close ones, but the roster was not good, agreed portal needs to hit this year. Who said anything about "overly positive"? There are guys who post frequently who haven't said anything remotely positive in years. What do OU men's bball fans have to be overly positive about at the moment?
Actually, I think it's safe to say a team that was picked 14 in the SEC wasn't "expected" to make the tourney (and likely wouldn't have been expected to beat Michigan, Arizona and Louisville). That's the problem. OU met expectations when expectations were in the basement.
I have stated my fair share of both positive and negative things about the team this year, but have skewed negative. Up until the last week of the season, it wasn't even a guarantee that we'd be in the field. We had to win our last two games of the regular season to get to 6-12 (!!!) in conference play. And the guy that lead us on that little streak to sneak us in the backdoor will be gone next season.Who said anything about "overly positive"? It wasn't a stellar season but it was a good one. Twenty wins--and some impressive ones--and finally a return to the tourney. And had the team not had its second worst shooting night of the season, we'd have likely won that game (I know, I know--ifs and buts). I certainly feel better following this season than any of the previous three. Am I deliriously happy? Of course not, but chadmac rightfully observes that there are posters who relentlessly spew negativity. And some of them don't just say their piece and move on--they rush in to respond to every single post that is even mildly positive. It gets old (and I speak as someone who's had plenty of negative things to say about Moser and no doubt will again--no one can accuse me of being a sunshine pumper on this subject).
I'm with you. I've been in wait-and-see mode for two seasons and still am, though I view this season as a small step in the right direction. But that's not what the complaint was. It was about relentlessly negative posters, those who virtually never say anything positive, even when things are going well, as they certainly did down the stretch this season.I have stated my fair share of both positive and negative things about the team this year, but have skewed negative. I'm going to be hopeful that we can land some guys in the portal to get us a better roster next year, but the optimism is dimmed based on prior experiences with PM at the helm. I'm not sure we have someone capable of utilizing our resources to put us in a solid position to compete. I have always and will continue rooting for OU bball, but I don't do so with crimson colored glasses on.
