Roster Next Year

Duke was actually a really steady player. Nothing flashy, but he played his role very well. Honestly, besides getting abused by bigger / stronger guys a couple of times, I have no complaints. Would love to have him back next year as a sixth man. He and Dayton off the bench would provide some second unit scoring punch. What I especially like is that he shoots shots he can make -- not someone who's going to jack up shots just to put up numbers.

He and Sebastian Mack are almost identical in my mind, but Duke's a better shoot, and Mack is a better defender.

I think Mack has way more upside. Could be wrong though. I dont mind Duke either but think we need an upgrade without a fears type PG.

I'm bullish on Andreas Holst. People are sleeping on the kid a bit. Just saw some clips of him from this past season and he is athletic for his build/size. For a 7 footer, showed good ability to step back and knock down the three. Runs the court well too. Reminds me a little of Thomas Haugh.

Speaking of the Gators, would really like to see us consider their roster build out. They aren't filled with a bunch of high four and five star guys or high priced transfers. Haugh was an unknown three star. Chinyelu averaged 4 pts a game at Washington St. before transferring. Martin was an undersized off guard that averaged 13 ppg from FAU. Clayton was a MAAC guy that flew under the portal radar. My point being, this isn't some 10 million dollar, blue blood roster.

Granted some of the pieces we currently have are unknown, you at least have front court guys with good length and skill sets in Holst, Rogers and Wagu, similar to how Florida started. Still need a seasoned four. We don't totally know what we have in Nwankwo and Jones but their upside is intriguing from a length and athletic ability standpoint. Will need an extra body in there aswell. Backcourt needs to load up. Need another PG and SG.

You could be right but I think he’ll probably redshirt his freshman year.

I hope not.. if he has to or wants to redshirt, he likely will be a waste of time/failure recruiting him.

With his size and our lack of depth at the 5, even 5 mins a game helps us. Redshirting will only help the player and/or the future team(s) he statistically will likely end up playing for

if the settlement is approved and there are 15 scholarhips almost every team in the nation will have guys RS every single year
