Royce White Ineligble for ISU this season

What's the basis for his appeal? Why is his case different than anyone else's? I've seen transfers gain immediate eligibility, but only when they were going home to be near a sick relative or something like that. He was actually from Minneapolis, so it's definitely not that.

I think they're arguing that since he left Minnesota before playing a game (got kicked out for stealing and breaking some other team rule) he should be able to play or something. If he had enrolled in ISU last year during the Spring semester he would have an argument for it but he didn't even announce his transfer decision till July 12.

Boy some on here made it seem like he was a shoe in. I can't say I feel too sorry for the kid. He SHOULD have to sit a year imo.

Didn't realize he never played a game for Minnesota.

If he left the school in the first semester of last year, he should be allowed to play this year after the end of the first semester at the latest. But that's me talking, not the NCAA. I know there are probably rules about when he left school or signed with ISU that the NCAA is pointing to, but I think they should consider the date Minnesota decided he wasn't going to play for them should be the date the NCAA looks at. He should have to sit two semesters after that. Anything extra is too much.

And really... give ISU a break. They're bad enough as it is.

Royce would have been important for them this year... They are actually pretty good 1-3 with Diante Garrett, Darion Anderson, and Melvin Ejim.
