The rpi is stupid until mid-conference season. According to this,
#23 Quinnipiac 2-3
#34 Drexel 2-3
#39 Alabama 2-3
#44 Middle Tennessee 1-3
#45 Creighton 3-2
are ranked ahead of us, and Creighton will lost to us by 11?

I am quite literate regarding RPI (and BCS) having been considered as a "guru" in both in the past.

Both have become less relevant in recent years, which is why I seldom comment on them anymore.

If you have questions about the legitimacy of either metric, I'd be happy to respond.

Ask away. I won't be held to a timetable as to when I might respond, however.

I do have my own life to live.

I have never considered RPI and SOS anything more than something of interest.

I agree.

The RPI tells you something but not everything. Not an absolute.

Several of those teams' high RPI are based on strong SOS. Even then, those high RPI numbers make little or no sense, IMO.

#71 OU was projected to lose to #74 Fairfield last night. We play #18 Marist on Saturday.
