Same old Baylor???

Coach k loses in the first rd to mercer but its drew who loses to Wisconsin in the sweet 16 that gets the criticism.

Coach K has more NC rings than anyone not named Wooden or Rupp. Because of that, he gets a pass from most fan bases (though certainly not his own). I've done my share of ragging on Scott Drew, but I've kept quiet since he won 5 post-season games this year. Yes, his team was talented enough to the point which they should have been higher than a #6 seed. However, like him or not, the guy wins basketball games.

Why doesn't his name ever come up for other jobs? If he was highly thought of, he would have come up at some point.

His teams underachieve during the regular season and he is not very popular among other coaches, as I understand it, for what I think are fairly obvious reasons.

For those Drew supporters, would you want him at OU if LK left suddenly?

For his detractors who has done a better job in the Big XII during his tenure not named Bill Self and who in the history of the Baylor Program has done better?

I am not a huge fan but the guy gets bashed a lot on this board and he is the most successful coach in the history of Baylor Basketball. Plus I think it is reasonable to say he has done as good or better job than everyone in the Big XII not named Self. OU, OSU, ISU, Tech and KSU have all had coaching changes during his tenure and several were fired. Barnes has had several bad seasons. Huggins hasn't done much in his return to the conference.

That's all well and good, but I still wouldn't want him as a coach of my team.

I don't want him as OU's coach either. I am simply pointing out he isn't all that bad when it comes to results. It essentially took him 3 years to turn Baylor around but the probation season was his third year and virtually everyone left when Bliss resigned. Kruger turned OU around in 1 year but I think the turn around job at Baylor was a bigger task.
