1. Secure staff
2. Secure existing team
3. Call every JUCO you know
3. Nino Jackson
4. Shaquille Cleare
5. Perry Ellis

Jordan Woodard is a higher priority for the future success of OU than Nino in my opinion.

Did Nino say he was down to ku and baylor? I wonder if he will reconsider OU.

Call Blake Griffin...just to touch base, get to know. Maybe Eduardo.

I definitely agree with the first two. Once he gets his staff in place, it's important that Kruger makes sure guys like Pledger, Fitzgerald, and Clark don't transfer. Pledge and Fitz have already put two years in, so I think they are unlikely to go anywhere. Hopefully, Clark is willing to stick around as well. I think he will.

that would be a mistake right now. Blake is mad.

We all love Blake Griffin, but why should anyone care if he's mad? If I were the new coach at a program, one of the first things I would do is reach out to the former players.

Why should we respect his feelings and give him a little space until this cools over?

:facepalm :facepalm :facepalm

Well I would hope Blake would act like a mature adult and not a whiny baby...

NM, I'm an idiot...

Is that James' younger brother? I'd like to land them both.

Who is Jordan Woodard? Do you mean James Woodard the 2guard from Edmond?

No I mean his younger brother that is the point guard for them. He is 2013 so a few years a way but Kruger would do well to offer him now and get in on him as sooner as possible.

Totally agree. How dare he be upset that his college coach and good friend got fired. I know if I was in that situation, I would be totally objective and not take my friend's side. Especially, if I was still a 22 year old.

Blake loves OU and will come around. He is a good ambassador for the school. We cannot, however, expect the Capel firing not to affect him emotionally.

Dang your quick, took me like 30 seconds to switch to the 2013 class and find Jordan. Looks like a player, especially for his age. Would love to see the Woodard brothers be the next Griffin's for OU.

Did I say he couldn't be upset his friend and coach got fired?

No. I just said he shouldn't be a little b*tch if the new coach decides to call and introduce himself. And unlike some of the posters here reacting to this hire, I'm sure Blake could handle it.

That still doesn't explain how Coolm suggesting respecting Blakes feelings and giving him space equates to Blake being a whiny baby or a little b*tch.

If Blake can't handle being introduced to the new coach, that would make him a whiny baby.

That said, I'm almost positive he could handle it.

That should not be at the top of the list. First establish your assistants. Get the current roster stabilized. Recruit like the ****ens and try to land the best players possible. Work on the game schedule for next year. Reach out to the community and work on marketing.

Get control of the program as much as possible. Then, reach out the the alums. But don't wait too long to reach out. Former players will want to hear good reports of substantial progress of improving the program. Then, they will all be receptive to a phone call.

If Lon reaches out to Blake too soon it might be perceived as needing Blake to make his program succeed. That would look like weakness. And, in my opinion, Blake might think he is being used.

Then you need to work on your phrasing, because your first post implied the exact opposite. Coolm's point was why put him in that position. Why not give him a few months to cool off? Why is it so important to call him now? Of course Blake could handle it, but why force it?

Blake's season is over in about 10 days. I would wait until he has some time to relax. There is no reason to rush things.
