"Please, miss. May I have some more?"

How does this guy stink so badly during the season and come up roses in the tournament? It would surprise me if they don't make the Elite 8 again this year...

Because he is a good coach and puts more of an emphasis on post season play. 3 Big 12 championship games, NIT Champ., NIT final and 2 elite 8's. One of these days you guys will realize he is a good coach.

Because he is a better coach than everyone gives him credit for. He also realizes the most important part of the basketball season is the NCAA tourney, not playing your best ball during the season and then crashin/burning in the tourney.

I was goofing on him in another thread, so I have some crow to eat. His team did exactly what I wanted my team to do yesterday - come right out and break the opposition's spirit. Total domination by Baylor today. I'm a believer that if you're going to rip a guy for losing like many (such as me) have, then at some point you have to give him some of the credit for winning. His team was prepared and focused...and I'm jealous.

Yeah, I think all "OMG HE'S A TERRIBLE COACH" talk needs to be put to bed for good. Maybe he's not perfect, but he literally resurrected a program and is consistently at least competitive in the Big XII. Twenty wins six of the last seven seasons is impressive, especially at Baylor.

Even a blind squirrel stumbles into a nut once in a while. All this game proves is sometimes talent sometimes CAN raise itself above mediocre coaching.Further evidence , see Travis Ford and oSu.

Didn't Capel have a winning record vs Drew? If so that tells me all I need to know.

That's certainly a fair argument. Perhaps yesterday's game is too fresh in my mind. However, we've played 14 first-round games as a seed outside the top three and have NEVER come close to the 1st round performance as Baylor had today.

Very few teams have we had at OU with the kind of talent Drew has assembled either. I would venture to say the only teams we had with equal talent or better were seeded 1-3.

The guy can recruit nobody questions that. Give Sampson, Tubbs, or Kruger that kind of talent and they win the first game by double digits.

Let's also not forget they played a big 10 team. Big 10 is terrible this year. Iowa, Nebraska and Ohio state lost in their first game.
