Curious now the seasons over if anyone thinks changes will indeed be made? Something is clearly broken.

Yeah, a good friend told me that she's not making changes because she likes to irritate some so called fans!

I don't think she will. Next season's outcome will determine if she has to or faces further dissension and possible ultimatums or firing. The program cannot, IMHO, weather a second season like this one without serious long-term damage.

All that said, I was surprised that Griffin was basically benched today and that Portia took even more minutes. I am surprised Kornet didn't see much time in the 2nd half and that Carter continued to play when she played as poorly as she did.

So, maybe Sherri does shake some things up. It's not totally impossible, but it's close to Hell freezing over.

I don't think Sherri really needs to change much. The two main reasons the program has gotten mediocre graduated.

The first thing that needs to change is recruiting.

I'm pretty confident that we will be better next season. Maybe quite a bit better.

Williams will prove out over the next couple of years to be much better than Griffin ever was. Little is probably the best player on the team. Losing Vegas is tough. But, Sherri got too dependent on her. She will be forced to run some offense next season.

It might take the non conference portion to get the new freshman point guard settled in. But, that position has been upgraded. Campbell has already shown that she can be a really good player. Carter has some game and she will be better.

There is some decent talent on the roster. Sure, Sherri needs to get out and find a difference maker or two. But, I really don't think the situation will look quite so dire next season.

There will be no changes unless she is forced to. I do not look for that to happen.

Supposing every one is healthy coming back, I think we will have leadership roles from Maddie, Sharane, Kornet and Gabby. They seem to be four of the hardest workers. We know that Maddie and Gabby will have to prove themselves, but from what I have seen they will make us a better team next year. Changes, we may see one transfer, which if it happens, would open up another scholarship for the next recruiting cycle. If not, we have a solid core of youngins to build on. They just need to put in the work and have more passion.

We may have leadership qualities from Peyton and Gileysa as well. I am intrigued by how Penzo came to be named to the FIBA All-Star team when it obviously was not her scoring. But, I saw a report in a Mexican paper that said she was THE magician.

This year, we had seniors. Senior teams are usually difficult to beat in close games. Those are won by senior leadership. For some reason, we lost those games. I don't know what it was. But, I have seen something in Maddie's attitude that says she will be a leader, if healthy. Kornet is a positive force. Gabi has been a leader for her team for four years. I suspect that we will be in stonger hands next year, more determined hands.

Oh please elaborate!! I assume you mean our PG, 2nd team big 12 and top 5 in school history, and our center top 10 in blocks in school history. Both over 1000 points.
Recruiting needs to change I agree Norm, too many guards. Need some bashes in the post. Need a Nina Davis type that just go get the ball.
Secondly take the green light away from everyone. Set clear 1st 2nd 3rd options. Roleplayers needed to understand there roles.

BTW I'm not making any assumptions about next years leadership til games are played. You all know what ASSuming does.

Disagree strongly re: Morgan. Whatever her stats, (Bless her heart) Nicole was a liability most of the time.

I didn't expect all that many posters to agree with me. So, we will see. The team loses their best player, a senior post, and a senior point guard. My prediction is that the team will be better next year.

Morgan is a nice young lady, but she made no improvement between her junior and senior years. You have to have better players than Nicole and Morgan if you want to advance in the NCAA tournament and compete to win Big 12 again.

I think we expected more from Morgan than her talent level couple produce.

Durrett had the passion and emotion to be a leader. She should have played more.

Nicole improved until mid season then just disappeared.

Vegas will be very hard to replace. She is the only player on this team that reminds me of girls who played on out best teams.

Sharane needs to stop with the fouls and show up every night.

The freshman class was very disappointing. Not sure about their basketball IQ. Hopefully Peyton, Maddie and the incoming freshman are better.

Time for OU coaches to demand an off season program that focuses on toughness, athleticism and ball catching.

So we lose productive seniors and that's a good thing. We are once again counting on someone not only for production but now leadership that has never played. Finishing anywhere from second to fifth in the league and not getting blown out by Baylor seems to be a goal. I totally agree that we need to get some ponies in here. I'm tired of playing teams with starters, and reserves, that I wish we had. If we want to do more than make the tournament we need to start getting some players that can get us there.

And I'm sorry to see the staff will remain the same. I know Geno's a dick but do you think his staff is secure in their own minds? I doubt if he claps his hands and tells them to try harder.

Like Lon???

There's no one close to Geno, not even Pat. She was great, but got in on the ground floor and won a lot before the major schools started really throwing money at women's basketball. Geno's going to pass Pat for NCs won this year and he started his career at UConn 11 years after Pat started at Tenn.

Actually i meant like Sherri. Maybe he was a bad example but i just meant that even the most successful programs have accountability and consequences.

I know everyone loves Lon and his demeanor but I wouldn't mind him getting in some ass every once in a while.
