Self - KU - They have No Talent, Media

tells us over and over. That is the biggest pile of horse poop I have EVER heard. KU has several future NBA players on their squad. And KU is EASY to recruit to, just like it is MUCH easier to recruit to OU in football.

The STUPID media is trying to tell us what a Great coaching job Self has done. Excuse me but he is coaching at one of the Top 5 programs in the country and is in on ANY recruit they choose to go after. They have 16,000 butts in the seats for every game and Self has plenty of talent. If he didn't have alot of talent IT IS HIS OWN FAULT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So quit feeding me this crap, KU "PICKS" it's players - they don't really recruit.

And I don't think Danny Manning will be able to recruit at Tulsa when he doesn't have the advantage of having KU on his business card, IMO.
 
I agree with you- it is a clever posturing ploy that Self has been advancing. I do give him (and/or Manning) credit for developing Withey. I thought Withey was going to suck and now he has played himself into a first round pick this year.

Before the season started, I thought Kansas had the best inside/outside combo in the league in Robinson and Taylor. That proved to be true. I thought they would get valuable contributions from Elijah Johnson and Releford. That proved to be true. What made them a Final 4 team was:

1. Staying healthy- they had terrible depth but the lack of injuries overcame that.
2. Withey's development- Big12 defensive player of the year.
3. Robinson and Taylor playing like everyone expected them to play. They were both 1st team All-Big 12 guys.

You have to hand it to Self- he's a really good coach. But all along I thought he was sandbagging his team and his coaching by questioning his team.

But I hope Kansas wins it all- go Big 12!
 
Self is averaging over 30 wins a season at KU. I don't care how great the program is, that is an outstanding job. He has won 31 games or more in 6 of the last 7 seasons. Self is the best middle aged coach in the country. If he wants to set the record for most NCAA wins, he can do it. By "he can do it" I mean it is realistic.

Nope, he is a top 30 coach at a top 5 program - meaning if you put any of the other top 30 coaches there they would all do about the same IMO. Look at ALL the previous coaches Owens/Brown etc - they all looked better when they were at KU. Self is a good one, just NOT a great one. KU makes him look better - he didn't do these things when he was at ORU or TU did he? NOPE!!

And he still does have one of the best TUPEE's in the country. He is a very bald man but most don't know it, LOL.

I don't think the weeper did the same at KU. He certainly didn't win a championship. Now I will admit that Roy Williams cries like a little girl better than any man I have ever seen.

He won a lot of games at ORU(his first head job) they were horrible when he took over.. he took TU to the Elite 8.. & Illinois to multiple Elite 8s.. he can flat out coach!
 
It is cute that you think the toupee is some sort of insider info.. but everyone knows he has one & has had one forever...
 
Self is a great coach at one of the better programs in the country.

I don't see a need to try to put a number on it.

Nope, very good coach at one of the BEST programs in the country. You way over stated it with Great and way Understated it with "better". If you truly believe that then you don't know much college basketball.

I think most don't know it by the way, and I have no idea why you think that I thought it is some special information. I also think that ANY GUY who wears one has some MAJOR ISSUES (vein/pride to get started). If God makes you bald - STAY BALD. Like the Seinfeld episode when George buys a top and Elaine throws it out the window - now I laugh out loud every time I watch that episode!!
 
I couldn't give a #%@$ less if someone wants to wear a toupee. I mean, they are obviously superficial for it ... but how superficial would it make me to actually show it any concern?

UNC
Duke
UCLA
Indiana

Those are the top five programs in the nation.

kansas is clearly among the next 2-3. They are not, however, in the top five.
 
You're wrong.. Kentucky & Kansas numbers 1 & 2 all time wins.. Kansas clearly top 5 program..
 
I trust then you'll also admit Texas is a better football program than OU.

you're just trying to provoke people. OU is a WAY better football program than Texas.

And Kansas doesn't even compare to Indiana. Kansas is way better. UCLA right now is certainly not a top 5 program.

1. Kentucky
2. Kansas
3. North Carolina
4. Duke
5. Michigan State

It's not trolling to point out the ridiculousness of his argument.

Using all-time wins to put kansas ahead of UCLA, UNC, etc. is dumb... as would be using the same statistic to put UT ahead of OU.
