Reaves, Manek, Kur, and Williams can all return next year, correct? Due to the Covid “free year”. If so, will OU be able to allow them all to return, roster size wise? And would they all return?

I hope Coach is right. They all can still improve their games and make more money in the pro leagues. Most likely overseas but you never know.
Kur- needs more strength and continue to improve and show he can hit the outside shot.
Reaves- continue to show he is a point guard. Start to hit the 3 again.
Williams- shoot better
Manek- regain his confidence, get stronger

Only Reaves was on the court at the end of game. Brady was sitting on defense because KU needed a 3. He or Kur will usually be in there at crunch time.

With kuath’s measurables, he might be able to play himself into the NBA with another year.

I think Kur’s return is possible. He’s not the typical player from a foreign country who can’t wait to get back “home” and play for pay. This country has been his home since he was two. He has quite a story to tell about his family’s escape from a civil war in Sudan that left them homeless. Kur loves it here!

I think Kuath and Williams have the most to gain by coming back. Nothing would please me more. It’s hard to say about Brady and Austin. I would like to see both of them come back, but I will understand if they decide to leave. I wish all of our seniors well!

They won’t count against scholly counts

So I can’t imagine OU not welcoming them

But that would be a huge roster

Yeah, it would essentially take us out of the transfer market. Which I'm fine with.

However many stay would be the same number that would transfer, that's my guess.

i don't really see anyone transferring

the freshman either still need time to develop or have a bright future at OU

and everyone else is playing quite a bit with the exception of VI

and i think he likes it at OU

If both posts stay I could see Vic & Rick transferring. I could also see Williams transferring.

Kuath has absolutely no chance to play in the NBA. He's just not good enough, period. He's a freak athlete and super long, but he's not skilled enough.

That being said, I hope he returns.

I think we'll have 1 transfer maybe 2.

You're probably right and of all the guys on the team he has the best chance.

I can see Kur returning because hes not an NBA guy, or someone who would make big money overseas. Manek is in grad school, so maybe he returns if he has no desire to play overseas. Not sure about Reeves, seems like he would be unlikely to return.

Look, if Moses Brown can play for the Thunder or Makur Makur can play in the NBA, Kuath has a shot.

Just to play devils advocate. Moses Brown is 7-1 & averaged 9+ & 8+ as a freshman at UCLA.

Fair ... but Moses Brown made his hay in college by being 7'1", 250. He does not have the athleticism/movement to be a dependable big in the NBA. Kuath has the measurables ... height, wingspan, speed, and jumping. His jumper is quite a bit better than Moses Brown's as well.

Brown shot 35% from the free throw line and turned it over 1.5 times per game as a big who only touched the ball in the post.

Kuath has NBA athleticism but needs to keep developing skills, strength, and basketball IQ to get a shot. With one more year, I think he can do that.

The problem he will have at that point is that he will be too old. NBA teams want to draft guys as young as possible. Also there are only 2 rounds and there just aren't enough roster spots available. Does he have a chance? Yes, you can't teach that kind of length. I still think the chances are very slim.

There were people on this board last year saying that Doolittle was a sure-fire NBA player. I loved Doolittle but there was no way he was even close to that.

I think you're being charitable. There is absolutely zero chance Kur Kuath plays in the NBA. You've identified one of his big problems (age). Also recall that OU got him a medical hardship last year, and I think the issue was his back. "Old" (in NBA rookie terms) with potential back problems doesn't bode well for his chances at the NBA.

I'm also seeing people taking it as a given that Kur has "NBA size and athleticism." I'm not entirely sure that's true. Sure. He's tall and lanky and has some bounce. I don't claim to be an expert on the subject, but when I watch him run the floor, he doesn't stick out to me as having super unique athleticism.

As is always the case when these "X OU player has a chance at the NBA" discussions pop up, I'd love to be proven wrong.
