I'm pretty sure that wasn't up for debate in that thread...

I didn't really like any of your choices above, because I think it's better worded as "MJ by a fair margin"...I chose slight because I didn't feel the other choices fit MY OPINION.

I went back and read and I couldn't find ONE PERSON who said KB was better than MJ.

I picked MJ by a slight margin. Kobe is good, real good! But he's not quite on Jordan's level when it comes to making big shots or plays to end or close out a game. Doesn't mean that Kobe hasn't had his share. MJ was just better at it.

I also think Jordan handled his success better. One thing I don't like about Kobe is his showboating after he makes a good play. Just play the game and act like you've been there before! Hot dogging doesn't impress me much. By the way, I'm a Laker fan, and have been for forty years or more.

I still look at the situations both players were put in. Chicago had done very little before Jordan, and have yet to do anything since he left. Jordan is always going to have that 6-0 record in the finals and was 'the guy' on those teams. Both players are great, but I think Jordan had to do more for the Bulls than Kobe has had to do for the Lakers.
