I’m going with my sources that Shepherd will transfer. Teammates have been told.

If true Kruger & Co.have their work cut out for them on trying to get a graduate transfer point guard. There was also some scuttlbutt about McGusty leaving, but maybe it has quieted down.Any info?Go Sooners!!

Does that mean we have someone solid coming in that hasn't yet been announced? I can't imagine why he'd leave otherwise, since the starting job would basically be his by default.

The only announcements I’m aware of is that our coaching staff is working hard to sign a grad transfer point guard or a combo guard who can play the point.

I’m not surprised Shepherd may be leaving. For one thing, he didn’t do enough to secure his spot as Trae’s replacement last season. He was also one of the players named when I was told about an attitude problem roughly two months ago.

If true, best of luck to the young man!

Best of luck to him. Surprised he had an attitude but would make sense with the talk about Trae getting treated different.

Best of luck, but this is not a loss. He was not a Big XII caliber player.

interesting...I can see due to his position and never getting to give TY a break even though TY struggled of late but I can also not see it, he seemed very "supportive" on the TV..course that's a few minutes out of a ton of time.

Hes been granted his release. Possible to come back I suppose but I doubt it.

Can you please cite a legitimate source for this "talk"? Someone other than just a disgruntled poster to this board, I mean?

I am surprised to hear this.......while he didn't do much this year, I thought he did a credible job his freshman year. And he was at a spot that didn't get many minutes (because we had to have Trae in the game).

I was hoping he would come back and contribute at the point guard position....something doesn't seem right about his decision.

Probably just me.....

I'm with you. Unless there are disciplinary or behavioral issues, I don't get this at all -- from Shepherd's POV or OU's. Especially if we don't have a quality PG transferring in.

No I didn't "cite a source". Guess that means I am suspended for the semester.

But to answer your question I'm just going off rumors & what I saw during games.

The writing has been on the wall for some time that the team was going to go with someone other than Shepherd as the primary ball handler next year. His playing time dropped precipitously throughout the season and I can totally see Shepherd's perspective that he'd want to go somewhere he can play for his final 2 seasons. He's a long way from home, didn't pay much this year, and he's not going to be handed the keys next year either. We've got Harmon coming in year after next. I can totally understand his wanting to find somewhere he's a better fit.
